Feature & Follow

Gain new followers and make new friends with the Book Blogger Feature & Follow! This is a blog hop that allows bloggers to gain new followers and find some awesome new blogs to follow themselves!

The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee’s View and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host has a blog that they feature each week!

So, if you’re a blogger, come join in on the fun!

Here’s today’s question –

Question of the Week: Are you also a writer and what genre or did you ever consider writing?

I’ve always wanted to write a book, but so far, I haven’t gotten very far toward that goal. When I was in college, I took a short story writing class and after college I even took a novel writing course, but I never got more than a couple of chapters in. I’ve always used the kids as kind of an excuse for why I haven’t gotten to actually writing. This is somewhat valid, but I know that there are plenty of people who write when they have kids – I homeschool, so it makes it that much tougher, but the amazing Allie Juliette Mousseau (who I edit for, and who just released her sixth book the other day) makes it work (albeit with a few difficulties).

Someday I WILL write a book, though! I’ve had ideas percolating for two books that I plan to get onto paper eventually – one is a YA Fantasy and the other one is a MG with fantasy elements. Now I just need to motivate myself enough to write them down!

How about you?  Are you a writer?

    • Most of the time homeschooling is fun, but it does take up a lot of time. I definitely haven’t given up on writing though – I’m going to do it. Eventually. 🙂

    • You’re definitely right! I think that hooking up with a writing community would really help push me along, so I’ve been thinking about doing just that!

  1. You should definitely keep at it, even if you start by doing a couple hundred words a day eventually you’ll have a full novel! I like to set up a rewards system for myself where if I write a chapter(or some other goal) a day I get to watch an episode of whatever show I am currently marathoning on Netflix, the more I write the more I can watch!

  2. I also find it pretty hard to find the time to write. It is one of the few things I can’t do while doing something else at the same. If I’m going to write I really want to have the time to sit down and think about how I will phrase surtain things.

  3. Finding time to write is always a challenge. I tend to find myself up at 11 or 12 at night to put some words on the page. I hope you are able to get those books onto paper soon!

Thanks for stopping by my blog!
