Sunday Post & Giveaways Galore – 4/12/15

Posted April 11, 2015 by Nicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction in Sunday Post / 17 Comments

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on my blog and share news about what’s coming up in the week ahead.

Last week on FYFA (and in my life):

I’m posting this on Saturday evening this week because my hosting service is doing a server upgrade and they asked us not to post on Sunday. Hmmmm …. I guess I can handle it.

This week was another busy one. I wrapped up an editing project and will be jumping into the next one very soon! And my kids and I are trying to get back into the swing of things with school after “spring break.” (We didn’t exactly take a full spring break, we just kind of did half days of school most days for a couple of weeks, but now ramping back up to full days feels hard!)

Here’s what you may have missed on the blog this past week:

Next week on FYFA:

  • The Maze Runner by James Dashner (review & promo)
  • Arcane Forest Anthology (release day blitz & giveaway)
  • The Ark by Laura Liddell (blitz & giveaway – and review, if I can get it read before then – the review isn’t due until June, but I always like to include a review with my promo posts if I can!)
  • Conspiracy of Blood and Smoke by Anne Blankman (review & giveaway)
  • Let’s Discuss – Why I’m Changing Some of My Ratings – Gasp! Yep, it’s true.

  1. I must admit, I am pretty excited for the change of rating discussion! I have seriously been thinking about this myself. Before I started blogging (and reading a ton!) I was much, MUCH more lenient (because no one cared what I said!) and now… it’s bothering me to see books that really don’t deserve the high ratings next to ones that DO. Anyway, I am looking forward to it!

Ugh, “going back” after a spring break sounds rough. How do you do it? Do they have like, 6 hour days? 5 days a week? (I will probably email you about this in depth at some point- I only have a year to decide what the heck I am going to do with my kid, and homeschool is a very real option!)

Anyway, weird about not posting on Sunday! But hopefully you’ll be able to have a nice day 🙂

    • I had been contemplating changing ratings for a long time, but didn’t want to do it because I felt like it was “wrong.” But I’ve decided to heck with it. I want my ratings to truly reflect my feelings about the books, even a bit later. I haven’t actually done it yet, so I don’t know how many books it will affect, but I’ll let you know!

  2. I don’t think I was supposed to post today either, but I did. #rebel

My oldest read The Maze Runner series and LOVED them! Also, how cool is it that your secret sister got those books? AWESOME.

    • You are a total rebel. I don’t know if I should hang out with you because you might be a bad influence. I guess we can still tweet, though. 🙂

  3. OOh nice! I was a bit disappointed with The Kill Order myself. As a prequel, I was expecting so much explanation from the previous books, which took place after. But if memory recalls, we hardly saw any familiar characters. So I am wondering if there will be more to come…

Hope you…and your son enjoy them all the same though! And hope you enjoy the rest of your reads!

  4. Did it again! I left this page open and then went to explore the links….yesterday. I meant to comment then, but ya know I get distracted.
I have a giveaway going on for Whiskey and Charlie it is only open for a few more days. I think I missed that secret sister thing (if it is the one I am thinking of) by one day. I always forget the blog that hosts those so then by the time I find it I am late to the party.
You got a bunch of good books this week. I am looking forward to those reviews! Happy reading!

  5. I see FACE TIME up there 🙂 And a discussion about changing ratings? Like drastically? Sometimes I waver (in my head because I don’t put ratings anywhere) between 4 and 5 stars, but I rarely change from 5 to 1 or the opposite. Hmmm, looking forward to your post!
