Last week on FYFA (and in my life):
Have to share at least one picture of Colorado. We’ve had tons of fun! This is the family on Mt. Bierstadt – a 14,000 foot mountain! My husband and kids actually made it all the way to the top. I actually couldn’t keep up with them – I only made it to 13,500 and then let them head up that last 500 themselves (they had to basically scale a huge thing of rocks – my husband was so impressed that the kids did it!). Meanwhile, I sat and read a book on my Kindle. LOL!
Just as I predicted a couple of weeks ago, I am woefully behind on replying to comments and on commenting back. I’m doing my best!
Here’s what you may have missed on the blog last week:

Next week on FYFA:

- Emmy & Oliver by Robin Benway (review)
- July Discussion Challenge Link-up
- The Scorch Trials by James Dashner (review)

Purchased from the Awesome Tattered Cover Book Store in Denver:
Plus, I bought a couple of other books that were purely for the kids. The School for Good and Evil books are kind of for the kids, but I’ve heard great things about them and I want to read them too!! I could have bought TONS more books at the books at this bookstore, but I held myself back!
For Review:

Your family is precious!
The Tattered Book Cover Store sounds AWESOME. What a wonderful name. 🙂
Thanks for linking to our challenge giveaway!
You’re welcome! Thanks for hosting the event and so many awesome giveaways. I’ve been thinking of joining in on the event, but I’m already struggling to keep up with the blog while on vacation – maybe in July!
I went to college in Denver, and I spent a lot of time at the Tattered Cover. The store used to be much bigger, but they had to downsize a few years ago because rent was too high. I still live in Colorado, so I shop there whenever I go to Denver.
Yay for Colorado! It’s so beautiful! I read on your blog that you said that you live in the boring part, but I don’t see where that could possibly be. Try living in Illinois! 🙂
Glad you had a nice vacation. I feel pretty behind on things still. Ugh. I don’t even know. haha I’m doing pretty well on reading, but that’s about it.
Yeah, sometimes you go through periods where it just feels impossible to catch up – I totally get that!
Nice picture. I think hiking 13,500 feet is impressive enough! 🙂
I thought so too – though I did feel a bit wimpy since the kids all made it up. 🙂 The air up there is pretty thin, though, and I was definitely feeling the effects.
Wow you guys are pretty hard core! Colorado sounds like a great place to visit. Looking forward to your thoughts on Faking Perefect and Emmy & Oliver.
We figure we need to make up for all the flat ground at home in Illinois – we don’t do anything halfway! 🙂
OMG that picture of you and your family is just awesome. Lol. Look at how winded and yet happy everyone is in that photo! 🙂 So glad you’re having a great time on vacation!
Yeah, I think this picture was taken not quite halfway up the mountain and we were already winded. Totally worth it, though!
I’ve never been to Colorado, but your stories and photos are definitely persuading me to visit someday 🙂
Don’t think I would have made it as far as you did! Looking forward to Emmy and Oliver. Have a great week.
What a hike! I would’ve given up too, don’t worry! Love the selphie stick 😉
Enjoy your new reads… Get Real looks cool!
Naomi @ Naomi’s Reading Palace
Awesome recap! I love hiking although I would have probably stopped and started reading too, but its so impressive they made it all the way to the top! And the Tattered Cover Bookstore! I’ve heard about that book store I hope I get to go one day! But also very impressed you held back from buying more books haha 🙂
Love the list of discussions and giveaways! I’m also holding an awesome BookCon giveaway on my blog! There are tons of different prizes like a signed Throne of Glass Poster, some TMI Swag, etc, etc. Anyone interested can check it out here
Thanks for sharing the Colorado pic! Such a great pic! Thanks also for sharing the contest links – there’s a lot out there right now!
You have a gorgeous family and a very fit one to make it up the mountain! It looks beautiful!
Such a lovely family picture. I would have stopped and read too! LOL
Well done to your husband and kids for making it to the top. It’s a great pic! And good on you for almost getting there!
