Top Ten Books I’d Like to See on Screen

There are TONS of books I’d love to see made into movies or TV shows, but to be honest, I don’t watch all the much TV anymore, and I rarely go to the movies. Still, I think I’d make an exception for these!

The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer.
This series would be amazing as either a movie or TV series. I could see it working either way (though maybe I’d prefer a TV series, because it could be done in more depth).

SPLINTERED

The Splintered Trilogy by A.G. Howard.
Can you just imagine how beautiful this would be? I mean, just look at the covers of these books and you can imagine the world that would be portrayed in the movies!

SELECTION

The Selection Series by Keira Cass
The Bachelor with gorgeous dresses? I want it!!

lUX

The Lux Series by Jennifer L. Armentrout
This one would make an exciting TV series and would fit right in on The CW.

FAIR-ASSASSIN

His Fair Assassin Trilogy by Robin LeFevers
This series just screams epic movie to me. With the medieval setting and political maneuverings, it would be perfect!

WALLED-CITY

The Walled City by Ryan Graudin
I just want to see the incredible walled city!!!

STARBOUND

The Starbound Series by  Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner
This series would make for amazing sci-fi movies! I can see it all now!

ALL-OUR-YESTERDAYS

All Our Yesterdays by Cristin Terrill
The twists in this book and the emphasis on action would make this a great movie!

THINGS-WE-KNOW-BY-HEART

Things We Know by Heart by Jessi Kirby
I wanted to include a couple of contemporaries in here, and this one popped out at me as a movie that I would love to watch. It would be a sweet and fun romance – and I would love to see their dates played out on the big screen.

MAYBE-SOMEDAY

Maybe Someday by Colleen Hoover
Ugly Love is being made into a movie, but I would MUCH rather see Maybe Someday on the big screen!

So, what books do you want to see made into movies or TV shows?

    • It’s one of those series that you just have to read to see what everyone’s talking about, right? I just got The Heir at RT, and I’m excited to read it!

  1. I am so with you on the Lux series. Actually I’m all about the CW greenlighting all of JLA’s series. The Starbound series would be awesome as movies (ok I’ve only read the first but it was amazing). Lastly, I could not agree with you more on Maybe Someday. I mean I wish I had a vote on which of Colleen Hoover’s books got made into a movie because Ugly Love we actually be low on the list. Great list!!

    • Ugly Love was the one and only Hoover book that I really didn’t like all that much, so I was kind of bummed when I heard that was the one going to the big screen. Oh well. And I’m totally with you on JLA and The CW – they need to get right on that!

  2. Joycedale Chapman

Lux on CW would be awesome! Maybe Someday would be a much better movie than Ugly Love since that was my least fave of her books lol.

  3. The Lunar Chronicles made my list too this week^^ I think that’d be AMAZING as either a film or television series! His Fair Assassin is another great one, I can totally see digging the historical feel of it 🙂 I still need to read Splintered, Lux, Starbound and The Walled City though. Awesome picks! xx

  4. I totally agree with you on the Selection and Lux. Lux would make an amazing suspense/action movie! Selection, definitely as a TV series…imagine all those beautiful dresses and the palace. I’m not big on book to movie things; since, somehow the movies normally manage to screw the books up. But, I am always willing to give them a try. So far the best one I’ve seen was The Perks of Being a Wallflower… oh and Divergent was pretty good.

    • I never watched Perks. I really enjoyed the book, but it was pretty intense and I wasn’t sure if I wanted to see all that on the screen. It was really good, though? I might have to rethink.

  5. Oh, you’re so right – Jennifer Armentrout’s series would be perfect for CW 😀 They’d do a good job of making Daemon swoony (though perhaps less of a jerk at the beginning?).
His Fair Assassin would be great for the costumes alone, but the story would lend itself perfectly to a movie or a series, I agree. Great picks!

    • Ha! Funny that you say that about Daemon – looks like we’re on the same wavelength because I only gave the first book in the series 3 stars because Daemon just bugged me too much. Luckily, things got WAY better in the rest of the books!

  6. The Lunar Chronicles and Starbound Chronicles made my list too! (I am seeing this in a lot of blogs) I have been wondering WHY it hasn’t been picked up YET!

Maybe the Lux series would be a good movie (or TV series since Downton is over and we need a new one!) but I didn’t really get into this series. The first book is still on hold (I haven’t finished it yet).

My Fair Assassin is one of the books still on my TBR list!

  7. Oh so much yes! I think the Lunar Chronicles really should be made into a movie. They would be so fun and I would love to see one of my favourite series transformed into something I like to watch. I think they are popular enough for it to happen as well.
