Last two weeks on FYFA (and in my life):
Busy week around here! We’re coming up on the end of our homeschooling co-op year and we have our final performances next week. That means that we’ve been trying to get all the last minute things together. I also finished up a first edit of the new book I’ve been working on for author Jayden Abello. And as you can see, I’ve been back in the swing of things on the blog.
I also started going through my Bloglovin’ feed to clean things up again. It’s been a while since I updated it, and a lot of newer active followers weren’t in my Active Followers folder – which is the folder I follow most closely. (If you’re curious about my system for organizing my Bloglovin’ feed, check out my post about that HERE.) I was also surprised to find that a few people I’ve been visiting for quite some time weren’t in there!! Just goes to show I need to stay more on top of actively managing my feed!
Here’s what you may have missed this past week:
- Bite-Sized Reviews – Romancing the Nerd, Into the Dim, Tuck Everlasting, Island of the Blue Dolphins
- Once Upon a Dream by Liz Braswell – Review
- ARC April Sign-up

Ah, end of the school year! How exciting! 🙂 (not for me, because then Summer plans and what am I doing with them?) anyway
I need to go back through my feed and update a lot. I had them super organized but then went to just a general feed and now I have realized i am missing blogs? They are WAY DOWN on the feed haha
Have a good week!
Wow does sounds like a busy week!!I am the worst with my Bloglovin feed!!! I just added a bunch that I thought I was following but wasn’t. Oops!! Hope you enjoy your new books. Have a great week!!
OH GOOD! Jayden DID come to see you about editing! I had sent her your way, but I hadn’t checked in on her lately. That’s great! 🙂 Crazy that your co-op is so close to the end. Where is the time going? Will they be performing the play you wrote? I can’t wait to hear how it goes!
Ooh nice! Those are new to me reads! Hope you enjoy them both!
Here’s my STS
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂
Thank you so much for sharing my discussion! 🙂 I’m glad you enjoyed it.
Good luck with your homeschooling exams, I hope the kids will ace everything and you’ll be able to breathe easier for a while. I can’t imagine how hard this must be, homeschooling isn’t really common here, so I don’t know much about it, but it sounds like a) a lot of work; b) a lot of fun at the same time.
I love how you’ve linked to all the giveaways and birthdays. That is so nice of you! I’ll have to go check them out. Hope you have a great week! You can check out my Sunday Post in the link below.
Thanks so much for mentioning my discussion! I’m participating in ARC April, too, and so far I’m not doing so hot. However, this is still some time to bounce back so hopefully I’ll get to at least the second level. Have a great week!
Jess @ Princessica of Books & The Bookish Blog
Good luck with the performances! Hope that goes well. Thanks for the bite sized reviews- nice to see those. I’ve decided to hold off on Into the Dim after seeing some reviews, so it was nice to see your thoughts too. Romancing the Nerd sounds cute too- I almost skipped over it but then read your review and it does sound nice.
Good luck with the performances. I hope it goes well. I like the Bite Sized Reviews ideas. I hope you love all of your new books.
Grace @ Books of Love
Best of luck finishing up homeschooling for the year! Hope all the projects go well. I can’t believe that BEA is so soon. It’s crazy. I’m trying to see if I can. I should known sometime this week. I’d have to drive up with a friend, so we’ll see!

Good luck with your final performances and the end of your homeschooling year. Sounds like it has been a busy time. I also got the ARCs for Defending Taylor and The Siege. I am so excited for both of them!
Wow, plenty going on for you. Hope all goes smoothly! I love how you are so organized with your Bloglovin’ feed! I bow to your organizational skills. 🙂 I confess that I rarely (if ever) access my feed thru Bloglovin’ and instead just depend on emails, which can be overwhelming at times. How fun that you recognize blogger birthdays and blogoversaries. Defending Taylor looks good. I’ve only read one by Kenneally and it was such a surprise – in the very best way. I picked it up on a whim expecting something light and fluffy but got so much more. It was Breathe, Annie, Breathe and I was so impressed with it. I definitely need to read more from her next time I’m in the mood for YA.
Ooh, good luck with your homeschooling thing!! And on editing. And omg you organise your bloglovin’ feed? *bows* Mine is SO MESSY that I just wait for the emails it sends me and don’t venture on there. ? I’m so shameful, hehe.
I hope you enjoy your new books and eeeep! Those look like SUCH good discussions to read. *clicks all the links*
So exciting the school year is coming to a close. I use folders on Bloglovin too and it really helps. Hope the week ahead is a good one !
I just cleaned out my Bloglovin’ feed last week. I was following a bunch of people and not their blogs, so it was nice to get it straightened out.
I loved your series discussion, such a good topic.
Hope you have a great week!
I think it’s so cool and sweet that you’ve added all the giveaways and birthdays and such.
I just wanted to leave a comment and say how much I love your blog, it’s fantastic!

Good luck at the homeschooling final performances! I always get excited when I hear you talking about your editing business. Hopefully Soon Nicole! Soon I’ll be a client 🙂
I got the Six and I think I requested The Siege. I read a few pages of the Six and liked Mark’s writing.
Thank you so much for mentioning my discussion! Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
Best of luck with the homeschooling performances!
I can’t believe it’s almost the end of the school year. This year has seemed to fly by so fast. *cries* My oldest starts Kindergarten in the fall and I’m not ready for that huge step. I need to figure out how to slow down time lol!
Oh, I can’t wait to see what you think of Miranda Kenneally’s newest book. I haven’t read anything from her yet, but I see that so many people adore her writing.
And thank you for the birthday shout-out! *shares a piece of my chocolate peppermint cheesecake with you*
Ohh a new one by Miranda Kenneally. I sure hope I’ll enjoy this one. The last few books in this series hasn’t worked out well for me. Boo.
Happy reading, Nicole!
