Sunday (Saturday) Post & Giveaways Galore – 12/23/17

Posted December 23, 2017 by Nicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction in Sunday Post / 26 Comments

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on my blog and share news about what’s coming up in the week ahead.

This past week on FYFA (and in my life):

First off, Merry Christmas to those of you who celebrate (and happy holidays to those of you who celebrate other things this time of year)!

I decided that since tomorrow is Christmas Eve, I’d put up my Sunday Post a day early this week. That way it’s done and out of mind so I can just enjoy the holiday.

Unfortunately, I spent most of this week sick with a sore throat, stuffy nose and general miserableness. I didn’t end up getting much blogging in (only two posts, one of which was already half written because I’d been writing reviews for the short stories in the anthology as I read). Still, that meant that I got some extra reading in because I didn’t feel up to doing much else. (See, there’s always a silver lining!)

These two posts are older, but I want to make sure everyone knows they’re up:

Here’s what you may have missed on the blog this past week:

Next week on FYFA:

Again, my plans for this week aren’t particularly solidified, but I’ll probably review this one since I didn’t get to it last week:

  • The Wolves of Mercy Falls Series by Maggie Stiefvater: Series Review

Book Blogger Birthdays and Blogoversaries:

Birthday-150 Blogoversary-150x150

Here are the birthdays and blogoversaries this week! I hope you’ll go wish these bloggers well on their special days! Make sure you check out the calendar to see what you might have just missed or what’s coming up. (If you want to be added to the calendar, you can always fill out the birthday/blogoversary form.)

Book-Haul

For Review:

I downloaded Everless from Edelweiss after seeing Karen’s review over at Kissin’ Blue Karen. The other two books are books I technically already had.

A Distant Heart I picked up at ALA this year. I’ve been meaning to read Sonali Dev for forever because she’s local (and I saw her speak at RT several years ago and really loved her)—then I accidentally got another copy from NetGalley when I clicked on the wrong link in the email I received from Barclay Publicity.

Ignite is a book I got years ago from NetGalley. I decided to try and make it my mission to clear out some of the older books in my NetGalley account. But when I went to go read this one, I couldn’t find it on my Kindle. Luckily, it was free on Amazon, so I downloaded it and now I can officially call it read!

Won:

I won this giveaway from Fiction Fare and JIMMY Patterson Books. Not only did I win Expelled, but I also won this fun Podo hands-free camera. Thanks so much!

Christmas Gift:

I got these HP Funkos for Christmas from my sister-in-law!

Great Discussions/Goings On Around the Blogosphere:

 Pre-Order Deals:

Listed in order of release date. Any new deals that I just added to the list this week will be denoted with a *** so you can easily find them!

Please note: Almost all pre-order giveaways run “while supplies last,” so I can’t guarantee that they’ll be open until the date listed. Pre-0rder early for your best chance to get all the goodies!

  1. I am sorry to hear you were unwell. I hope you are feeling better. That is a cool win from Fiction Fare. Good for you! I saw the Kirkus list. I had read 17 on the list, but hope to read more of them soon. Merry Christmas to you and yours!!

  2. OOoh nice!!! I love the Harry Potter Funkos but wow! Have they gotten vast! Lol!! I think I’ve let myself acquire 2…there’s a Harry with Hedwig that I had to box up when bookshelves got moved around and I bought the Comic Con of Luna with her glasses…that I can’t remember their name! So bad at trivia these days! Lol!! And I think that’s it for Harry funkos, though I did get the Hedwig magical creatures box thingy!

Nice new reads too! I’m rather curious about Everless and have it right at the top of my watch list for the most part! It sounds like it might be my kind of read and I’ll more or less be preordering it sooner rather than later! Lol!

Hope you enjoy all your new reads!

My STS will be up tomorrow, so stop by then if you can!

    Have a GREAT day!

    Old Follower 🙂

  3. I’m sorry to hear you were sick too! I’ve actually been sick since Thanksgiving, on and off. But it finally hit sinus infection level last week so I went and got antibiotics. Now I’m much better. I hope you’re on the mend too! Have a very merry Christmas!! xo

  4. I’m sorry to hear that you weren’t feeling well this past week. I hope you are feeling better for the holiday.
I hope you enjoy Everless. Thanks for the mention. Yay for the win and the Pop Funkos!
I have been “thinking” about trying to clear out my old ARCs as well. I need some willpower to not read all the shiny new ARCs. I am really ahead if reviewing for next year. It’s gotten kinda bad actually. I never review books a month early, so why the heck am I reading so gar ahead?
Anyways, I hope you enjoy all your new books and get some old ARCs read.
Merry Christmas to you and yours Nicole!

  5. I am so behind (I’m kind of behind on all things bloggish) but thank you for the ping back! Also, I hope you enjoy/enjoyed Everless! I have been seeing the book all over the bookish community and now I am really curious about how people will find it.
