Sunday Post & Giveaways Galore – 4/15/18

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on my blog and share news about what’s coming up in the week ahead.

This past week on FYFA (and in my life):

I don’t know where my head has been this week, but it apparently hasn’t been attached to me. It was one of those weeks where I just felt so scatterbrained. On Sunday, I forgot to show up to something at church. Then I forgot to order books for my co-op language arts class and missed half my daughter’s guitar/voice lesson because we assumed her teacher was out of town—we had reasons, but I won’t go into a long explanation. Suffice it to say, I should have checked. Today, I figured out I was a day late for submitting something for the conference I’m going to in June. Oh, and I’ve been late with my tweets for everyone’s birthdays and blogoversaries these past two weeks. I’m hoping my brain comes back someday soon.

Two of my co-op classes (the acting classes) are done now, but the kids in my language arts class asked if we could continue the class until the end of the extended semester (so, Mid-May). How could I turn that down? I mean, the kids want to keep coming to class. We’re reading Breadcrumbs from Anne Ursu (along with Hans Christian Anderson’s “The Snow Queen,” since the book is based on it). So, one more month of my last two classes and I’ll be done—probably for good. It’s both sad and exciting.

My family has been watching Malinda Kathleen Reese’s Google Translate Sings on YouTube the last few days. If you’ve never seen these, you need to check them out because they are hilarious! My husband and I were seriously laughing so hard on Friday night we were crying.

Here’s what you may have missed on the blog this past week:

    • Yeah, I think mine has mostly been because we’ve had all our end-of-year stuff going on at co-op. Between rehearsals and performances, it’s just been a little crazy. I keep telling myself I just need to make it through this last month. And keep my sanity until then.

  1. Oh dear, there’s nothing worse than having those ‘senior moments’! My brain is all over the place but that’s because I’m tired sitting up through the night to watch sport!

  2. Oh my! We’ve all had those moments, but wow, they hit all at once there didn’t they? That should clear you out for at least 3 months I’d say! 😉

Nothing new this week? Well, that’s always nice for the TBR pile! I sort of had a week like that since the book I got was already one I read! Plus a comic book…which I am so deeply behind on!

Ohh! And I totally meant to tell you about another preorder offer I found: http://www.randomhousebooks.com/campaign/kill-the-farm-boy/

    Here’s my STS

    Have a GREAT day!

    Old Follower 🙂

  3. I had a similar moment of forgetfulness this past weekend. I had a writing date with a friend on Saturday, and I packed everything I needed into my laptop bag. Then I left the house a little early so I could get gas and pick up a prescription before I drove across town to our meeting place. As I was pulling in to park at the meeting place, I realized my laptop bag was sitting at home. I had forgotten to put in my car. Fortunately the lady that runs the little diner we were at had a notepad I could borrow, and I did get basically what I needed done by writing by hand. Gah! And you’ve also now hooked me on those Google Translate videos. I watched the Ed Sheeran Shape of YOu one and laughed while sitting at my desk at work. Thanks for sharing those! Hope your week is a better one!
