Sunday Post & Giveaways Galore – 4/22/18

Posted April 22, 2018 by Nicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction in Sunday Post / 22 Comments

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on my blog and share news about what’s coming up in the week ahead.

This past week on FYFA (and in my life):

I got to meet with one of my CPs this week, which was really fun! It was the craziest thing—she found me via #CPMatch on Twitter, and when I visited her profile I learned that she lived ten minutes from me. Even weirder, she actually used to live in my neighborhood, just down the block from me. So, we got together for coffee Friday and talked about our books. Such a great opportunity, since neither of us get to talk writing all that often.

My daughter had her first two track meets this week. I have now learned that track meets are LONG. We were at the meet yesterday for over seven hours. It wasn’t so bad until evening—then it got cold! My daughter had fun, though, and that was the important part.

Oh, and I spent a lot of this week planning our next vacation. We’re planning to head to the UP Michigan in July, and I can’t wait!

Here’s what you may have missed on the blog this past week:

Only one post. At least it was a discussion. Have I mentioned that I can’t wait for May to come? I’ll be so much less busy.

  1. Hi Nicole!
Oh, I am so curious about the CP twitter thing. I have been considering Wattpad to get more experience with writing and feedback. It’s scary because writing is such a solitary thing and, to add to that, I am shy about my writing. But, whoa, it would be so cool if I can work with someone who can read my stuff and I read theirs. Any information on how this works would be lovely.

I didn’t know that track meets are that long. Goodness. Are there food services and bathrooms available while these things take place? This just shows you how much of an old lady I am because these are my priorities. How do you spend these long hours? (No one in my immediate family was an athlete or even casually participated in sports, so I am genuinely curious).

The topic of your discussio0n post sounds fitting considering what some people were saying about When Dimple met Rishi. I am going to check it out right now. I hope you get to enjoy your vacation!

  2. I almost requested The Miscalculations of Lightning Girl. It looks great, but I have way too many books to review. That meet must have been one of the bigger one (not a dual meet?). I remember the invitationals and relays being all day affairs on the weekends.

You picked the best month to visit the UP. We always visit my parents there in July. It would be more than cool to really meet you! Have you traveled there before? Any questions, feel free to message/email me. My daughters participate in track, so I know how long they go. And yes, spring meets are unreliable as far as weather goes. I’ve been in my winter parka and two layers of pants before.

  4. I love how detailed and informative this post is! I can only imagine how much time and effort goes into creating something of this magnitude! And it’s beautiful and easy to navigate. Thank you for putting all the work into making something like this. 🙂

Vacation planning! I feel like we always need a vacation from our vacation, lol. I just want to sit at home afterwards and not go anywhere.

  5. Regional soccer tournaments were the same for me, but you are right it was definitely worth it. My son is 26 years old now and has started mentioning different things we did as a family that he appreciated, and making sure I went to all of his “things” is one of them. I hope you had a wonderful week. ☺
