Sunday Post: Pre-order Incentives & Giveaways Galore – 9/30/18

Posted September 30, 2018 by Nicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction in Sunday Post / 36 Comments

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on my blog and share news about what’s coming up in the week ahead.

This past week on FYFA (and in my life):

My middle daughter headed to her first homecoming dance last night (with a group of friends—I haven’t had to deal with dating yet. 🙂 ) It was fun to go buy her a dress (especially since we got the perfect one on clearance for a ridiculous price) and to help her get ready.

Plus, yesterday was my mom’s 70th birthday and she retired on Friday! Several of you fellow bloggers know my mom, so you know how awesome she is (it’s okay if you like her more than me—I get it 🙂 ). Now that she’s retired, she’ll have even more time to go to book events and stuff with me!

Here’s what you may have missed on the blog since my last Sunday Post:

Book Blogger Birthdays and Blogoversaries:

Birthday-150 Blogoversary-150x150

Here are the birthdays and blogoversaries for this week! I hope you’ll go wish these bloggers well on their special days! Make sure you check out the calendar to see what you might have just missed or what’s coming up. (If you want to be added to the calendar, it’s easy! Just fill out the birthday/blogoversary form.)

Book-Haul

From NetGalley/Edelweiss:

I was susceptible to the NetGalley email again (and the pretty cover) and decided to pick up White Stag. I checked this one out on Goodreads and was definitely intrigued. And then I also picked up Evermore, the sequel to Everless. Even though I had a few issues with the pacing of Everless, I remember that it ended so well that I still really wanted to read the next one (It got really good after some things were revealed and I want to see where those revelations take us). We shall see!

For Review:

Oh how I’ve been loving these books from Rick Riordan’s new imprint. When my publicist contact at Disney asks if I want these for review, it’s an automatic YES! Dragon Pearl is coming out in January!

Great Discussions/Goings On Around the Blogosphere:

  1. First homecoming… what a milestone. And how fun to go with a group of friends. Congrats to your mom on her retirement! Good for her. My mom had planned to retire earlier this year but with the passing of my father she decided to keep working for a bit longer. Being home alone just wouldn’t be ideal right now. It’s too soon. Hope you have a great week, Nicole!

    • I just realized that your birthday entry says “Samantha,” which sounds so odd to me, I almost didn’t recognize it as you. I copy and paste those entries from the calendar, but I have to go change yours to Sam. You’re Sam to me!! LOL! (Happy birthday again, by the way. 🙂 )

  2. Happy Birthday and congrats on your mom’s retirement. Finally gave my daughter’s formal dresses to her to deal with! LOL. They have spent years in my closets. Have a great week.

  3. Congrats and happy birthday to your mom! That’s so cool she goes to bookish events with you! And yay for homecoming! I totally agree- this going with friends bit is fine, I am NOT looking forward to the boyfriend stage lol.

Hope your reads are good this week!

  7. Happy Birthday to your mom! Homecoming dress shopping sounds like so much fun. I hope your daughter had a great time at her dance.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who got sucked in by that beautiful cover on White Stag. The synopsis thankfully sounds really good too.

  9. I hope your daughter had fun! Happy Birthday and congrats to your mom!! I hope she has a wonderful retirement.

I saw the email for White Stag but I passed it over. I just wasn’t sure. Can’t wait to see what you think, so I can kick myself in the butt for not grabbing it when I had the chance. lol

  10. White Stag does sound good, doesn’t it? And I love that cover. Happy Birthday and retirement to your mom! I hope your daughter had fun at the Homecoming dance. I hope you have a great week!
