Sunday Post: Book Pre-order Campaigns & Giveaways Galore – 4/14/19

Posted April 14, 2019 by Nicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction in Sunday Post / 46 Comments

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on my blog and share news about what’s coming up in the week ahead.

This past week on FYFA (and in my life):

Well, this is the scene out my back door right now:

I know April showers bring May flowers, but I’m a little unclear on what April snowstorms bring. Lots of annoyed people? It’s supposed to be 50 degrees tomorrow, so I guess it will all melt, but still… I’m about done with this crazy weather.

Nothing else too new. My daughter Danielle had a couple of track meets and got a new PR for high jump (4’6″). She was excited about that, of course. And then Friday night Danielle, my mom and I went to see a play at Danielle’s school. They did a fantastic job with it–very impressive!

Here’s what you may have missed on the blog since my last Sunday Post:

Book Blogger Birthdays and Blogoversaries:

Birthday-150 Blogoversary-150x150

Here are the birthdays and blogoversaries for this week! I hope you’ll go wish these bloggers well on their special days! Make sure you check out the calendar to see what you might have just missed or what’s coming up. (If you want to be added to the calendar, it’s easy! Just fill out the birthday/blogoversary form.)

Book Haul:

Won/Gifted:

I won a whole slew of books from Lindsi @ Do You Dog Ear?! She sent me signed copy of Jennifer Armentrout’s The Darkest Star, along with a matching signed Book Beau. Then she also sent me Watch You Burn, Words We Don’t Say, My Almost Flawless Tokyo Dream Life, Me and Me, and Bring Me Back. I hadn’t heard of all of these, but I’m  intrigued by the descriptions. And I’m especially excited for Tokyo Dream Life because I’ve been eager to read that one (and The Darkest Star, of course). Thank you, Lindsi!

Then I also won The Lost Girl by Anne Ursu from Word Spelunking. I am SUPER excited to read Ursu’s newest!! Thanks, Aeicha and Walden Pond Press!

And then I got Life Without Lack from a friend who is designing a retreat and is using elements of this book for it. She’s asked for my help with editing her retreat materials and sent me the book so I can have that background knowledge.

For Review:

Blink sent me The Memory Thief. I’ve enjoyed Blink’s books, so I’m eager to read this new fantasy. Thanks, Blink!

From NetGalley:

I couldn’t resist these two NetGalley selections. Pet sounds oh so unique. And I just finished reading Geek’s Guide to Unrequited Love recently and then just had to request Tash’s newest, Virtually Yours.

  1. Wow look at that snow! It’s doing the same thing here- we actually have slippery roads and a little accumulation. It’s crazy!! 🙂

Congrats on your daughter’s high jump!!

  2. We had some crazy storms Friday morning – like tornado warning and stuff- but thankfully no snow!! I hope it’s all melted by now, and that the snow is OVER. haha Congrats on all the book wins!

  3. Look at that snow! I feel for you. I really do. Maybe it’s best if you skip my Sunday Post this week . . . Look at all those book wins! I hope you love them all. I am in love with the cover of The Memory Thief. Have a great week and may your weather make way for spring very soon. Like today.

  4. It’s lovely how you feature the birthdays of other bloggers. It makes me want to visit each of their blogs and wish them a happy birthday.

Snow is such a shock at this time of the year. I know it arrived for my son and daughter-in-law in Chicago today. Crazy.

You have certainly won the books. You will have to share your techniques or send us a little of your winning magic.

I hope you will add your link to our Sunday Salon as well as Sunday Post, if you would like. I’ve taken over the management of this meme and I hope to encourage more book conversations and blog visits.

    • I love sharing everyone’s birthdays and blogoversaries–feel free to fill out the form yourself so I can share yours!

I’m in the Chicago area too, so I’m sharing the snow with your son. 🙂

I linked up to the Sunday Salon, and I’ll try to remember to do so in the future as well!

  5. Yay! I’m so happy everything arrived safe and sound. I always worry about books getting bent or crinkled in transit.

The Lost Girl sounds really great! I don’t think I’ve read anything by the author before, but I’m definitely adding this one to my TBR. I hope you have a wonderful week!

    Lindsi @ Do You Dog-ear? ?

  6. Snow in April is too strange. I live near the sea and the past weeks have been rainy (which is normal), but it snowed on the mountains. You got so many wonderful books. I read the synopsis of The Lost Girl on Goodreads and I found it intriguing.

    Wishes of a happy week!

  7. I heard something on the news about a storm front up north dumping a lot of snow. It’s just kind of mind-boggling considering it was about 88 here yesterday. Gah! In fact, the pool at our amenities center penned this weekend. How’s that for opposites?! Congrats to Danielle for beating her personal best! Good for her!

  8. It has been raining cats and dogs here 🙂 It seems Danielle is keeping you busy. Meets and Plays. All good stuff! Enjoy! Now off to check out that post featuring Danielle!

  9. That’s not what most of us expect to see when we look out the window in mid-April! Unless you live pretty far north, anyway. I hope it melts and the weather settles down to actual spring soon. We didn’t get the snow, thank goodness, but the weather has been unsettled here as well–including a tornado watch last night. (Thankfully, no tornado where we live, though.)

Thank you for the links to giveaways and preorder campaigns!

  10. SNOW! IN APRIL! Wow! And hear I was getting annoyed that spring was hot and cold in NYC. It definitely wasn’t *that* cold! And The Memory Thief has such a beautiful cover! It’s funny, because I’m aesthetically drawn to covers like that, but I tend to stick away from the fantasy stories they contain.

  11. I did NOT know that Dusti Bowling had a new book coming, and seeing your pre-order list made me squee with joy! Lena and I are reading her second book right now, I love her stuff! Also I am very sorry about the snow, that is disgusting. Glad that Danielle is doing so well in all her activities, too! Gosh, this reminds me about how terrified I am for the day that my kids need to do ALL the activities hahahh.

  12. I’m not cool with it snowing in April. I’m totally with you there! I think I need to check out that Flawless Tokyo Life book. Heading off to Amazon!

(PS, I have a giveaway going on on my 1000th blog post! I’ll link it up here.)

  13. Oh my goodness so much snow DD: That was us in the UK last year, but thankfully spring is more springy this time around. I hope the spring weather comes to you soon. Also, yay for winning such an epic giveaway! I hope you’ll be able to enjoy all of those new books a lot x

  14. Jen

April showers bring May flowers worked for when I lived in California, but by Tahoe? HA. We don’t get showers, we get the possibility of snow until the middle of May. Here’s hoping yours melted quick! And I’m so excited you won The Darkest Star. I always thought The Lux Series was my favorite by JLA but that book made me question EVERYTHING.
