Sunday Post: Book Pre-order Campaigns & Giveaways Galore – 4/21/19

Posted April 21, 2019 by Nicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction in Sunday Post / 40 Comments

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on my blog and share news about what’s coming up in the week ahead.

This past week on FYFA (and in my life):

Happy Easter to everyone who celebrates the holiday! We’re spending a low-key day at church (where most of the family is serving for all the services) and at home, my dad being our only guest. We prefer holidays that way, honestly.

This week, I shared some of my new WIP with my writing critique group. I honestly was really scared to do it because I still feel like this manuscript is sort of a mess (I’m not writing it in order), so it was hard to figure out what to share. And rough draft verse feels very rough indeed in some instances. But they were incredibly encouraging, and it’s inspired me to keep going! Writing verse has been difficult but fulfilling.  🙂

Not much else to report. As expected, our 6 inches of snow from last Sunday is already long gone (it was mostly melted by Monday). Today is supposed to be in the mid-seventies, so I’m excited for some warm weather!!

Here’s what you may have missed on the blog since my last Sunday Post:

Book Blogger Birthdays and Blogoversaries:

Birthday-150 Blogoversary-150x150

Here are the birthdays and blogoversaries for this week! I hope you’ll go wish these bloggers well on their special days! Make sure you check out the calendar to see what you might have just missed or what’s coming up. (If you want to be added to the calendar, it’s easy! Just fill out the birthday/blogoversary form.)

Book Haul:

Won:

I won Lisa @ Lisa Loves Literature’s weekly giveaway of her giveaway/trade books (she has one going on right now, too, so make sure you enter!). I was able to choose two books, and I chose Amal Unbound and My So-Called Bollywood Life. Then she sent me a surprise book: How We Fall, which I was super excited about because I’ve been meaning to read Kate Brauning for years!

Purchased:

I bought a copy of Danielle Hammelef’s Movie Careers. She was nice enough to allow me to purchase it from Amazon and have it sent to her so she could sign (and personalize) it for me and send it my way!  🙂

From NetGalley:

Another book I couldn’t resist this week. We Contain Multitudes sounds like the type of book I love!

  1. Nice!! Glad you’re getting some critiquing for your manuscript. That’s awesome! I can imagine it being difficult to write in verse. I’m not even sure I could attempt to write like that! Lol! Hope you have a nice quiet holiday as expected!

Congrats on your win too! Hope you enjoy all the new lovelies!

  4. I hope you had a wonderful Easter. I’m glad to hear about the encouragement from your writing group. It’s important to have a solid support system 🙂 It also sounds like you have some great new books to read. I hope you enjoy them!

  5. I hope you had a good Easter Sunday and Easter Monday as well! I have to say, this was the first time I wasn’t at home for Easter so it was rather… quiet? I didn’t even have any chocolate, just church and seeing everyone there! I have heard really good things about Amal Unbound so I hope you enjoy that book!
