Sunday Post: Book Pre-order Campaigns & Giveaways Galore – 8/25/19

Posted August 25, 2019 by Nicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction in Sunday Post / 36 Comments

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on my blog and share news about what’s coming up in the week ahead.

This past week on FYFA (and in my life):

I went to go see the musical Come From Away with my mom and mother-in-law last Sunday! The show was fabulous! I knew it was going to totally tug at my heartstrings, but I ended up being really surprised at how funny it also was. I spent a lot more time laughing than crying—a tough balance with a show about 9/11.

We’re making headway on the deck! We had about half the new deck done as of yesterday. Some parts of it have been slow going (the old framing isn’t totally square, which has caused some difficulties), but Friday and yesterday, we really got into a good rhythm and we got a lot accomplished. I’ll share a picture next week when it will (hopefully) be done.

Here’s what you may have missed on the blog since my last Sunday Post:

Book Blogger Birthdays and Blogoversaries:

Birthday-150 Blogoversary-150x150

Here are the birthdays and blogoversaries for this week! I hope you’ll go wish these bloggers well on their special days! Make sure you check out the calendar to see what you might have just missed or what’s coming up. (If you want to be added to the calendar, it’s easy! Just fill out the birthday/blogoversary form.)

  • August 25th – Book Haven‘s Blogoversary
  • August 25th – Lola @ Lola’s Reviews‘ Birthday
  • August 26th – Lisa @ Reading, Writing, and Random Musings’ Birthday (Lisa doesn’t blog anymore, but she still stops by sometimes, and I wanted to wish her a happy birthday in case she happens by this week!)
  • August 27th – Book’d Out‘s Blogoversary

Book Haul:

For Review:

NONE! I stuck to my promise to myself and didn’t request anything new. I’m not going to request again until I’ve caught up (meaning, I’ve read one review book for every one I’ve accepted—I keep track of this goal in my monthly wrap-ups).

Won:

I won Aru Shah and the Song of Death from Verushka @ Pop. Edit. Lit in honor of Lauren @ Shooting Stars Mag’s blogoversary! I also won a pretty bookish scarf from Wendy @ Falconer’s Library that I was planning to put in the picture, but I couldn’t for the life of me figure out where I put it (with all the deck building, my house is not in its best condition right now). Thank you to all of them!!

Great Discussions/Goings On Around the Blogosphere:

  • With all the work on the deck, I haven’t gotten to the discussion challenge this week, but hopefully next week!

Pre-order Campaigns

Listed in order of release date. Any new deals that I just added to the list this week will be denoted with a *** so you can easily find them!

Please note: Almost all pre-order giveaways run “while supplies last,” so I can’t guarantee that they’ll be open until the date listed. Pre-0rder early for your best chance to get all the goodies!

Awesome Giveaways:

Lots of good stuff! Have any giveaways or great discussions happening on your site right now? Feel free to share them in the comments!

  1. Thanks for posting the pre-order campaigns and giveaways! There’s a couple books I’m thinking about pre-ordering right now, and sometimes the pre-order giveaways push me into buying now instead of waiting and getting it from the library or when it’s on sale.

Awwwww…..thanks for the birthday shout out. Even though I don’t blog anymore, I still check up on my favorites through Bloglovin daily! Even when I’m sporadic about commenting, I’m always in the background keeping up with you!

  3. I had no idea what Come From Away was about until recently, but it sounds great. I’m glad you loved it. I’m a big musical fan. And congrats on winning the giveaway on Verushka’s blog – I was so excited for you!

  4. i know what you mean about review books.i try to limit myself. i have done a great job of keeping up with net galley, but it took me a while. i don’t even look at it most of the time because i know i will go click crazy. i am getting inundated with horror review requests and did quite a few for october, but haven’t even checked out the most recent. i have a hard time saying no when most everything sounds good to me. lol

    • I know! It’s horrible, especially when I get requests from the publishers because so many books sound great and I’d LOVE to say yes to them all. But I’m trying hard to stick to my guns and not accept anything new right now, at least until I get my numbers in balance between books received and reviewed.
