Sunday Post: Book Pre-order Campaigns & Giveaways Galore – 10/13/19

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on my blog and share news about what’s coming up in the week ahead.

This past week on FYFA (and in my life):

It finally seems like my daughter is doing better after her accident. Monday was a horrible night—it ended with her throwing up repeatedly for an hour and a half and then us going to the ER again (on recommendation from our regular doctor). But then she got better and we ended up leaving because the ER was packed and some people said they’d been there for over 5 hours and hadn’t been seen yet! I figured it was better to go home and let her get some sleep and get to our doctor first thing in the morning, which turned out fine. Anyway, she seemed to turn a corner on Tuesday night/Wednesday and she’s actually acting more like herself, going to classes, and eating relatively normally. She also started using her crutches instead of the walker, which is much faster! She goes in for surgery on Tuesday, so hopefully the recovery for that won’t set her back too much.

Not much else to report. Not surprisingly, it feels like her health has mostly taken over lately with all the doctor appointments (we’ve been to the ER or the doctor nine times over the past few weeks) and just taking care of her.

Here’s what you may have missed on the blog since my last Sunday Post:

All this time in the ER must be really stressful for you. I am happy to hear it seems like your daughter is on the mend. How fun to see Rick Riordan. My daughter and I were just talking about what an awesome human he is.

  2. What a week you’ve had… I am so glad your daughter is doing better! And that is so cool that you got to go see Rick Riordan! I got The Tyrant’s Tomb last week too!

  3. Sorry to hear about your daughter’s troubles with the aftermath. I hope things get better after the surgery and that she continues to recover well.

Nice new read! I’ve never read this author, but have heard good things! I hope you enjoy (or enjoyed!) it!

    Here’s my StS

    Have a GREAT day!

  4. Oh no. That’s tough, and the worst is the throwing up part. I hope she’ll heal soon and well.

I started reading Percy Jackson last week and enjoyed the first book. I’m looking forward to reading the rest of his books.

I hope you and your family will have a great week, Nioole.

    • She was only on strong meds while she was at the hospital, so the doctors don’t think that’s what it was. They think she was having nausea related to the concussion. She randomly threw up one more time in the middle of the night right before surgery, but luckily they didn’t have to delay because of it. She seems to be feeling a lot better right now.
