It’s time for a new installment of Fun with SPAM, where we peek into the abyss of the Spam folder to find a few gems and imagine … what if I were really going to reply to these random crazy comments?
Take a look at what I might say (when I reference a specific post in my replies, that’s the post that the spam comment was left on):
I have read the post with amazing satisfaction and also could understand something brand new that I will use for my further requirements. The guide is clear and bright, without any further useless facts or else.
The speech is equally brilliant and vibrant, so the longer I see, the more I really do enjoy it! Anyway, the information is quite cutting edge, so like it.
Nothing but cutting-edge information around here, that’s for sure. I make sure to stay clear and bright … or else.
Honestly, I guess such posts must be printed more and more due to the current situation and modern needs of the Millenials. I eagerly read them to find some new information that will correspond to my needs.
Hmmm… I hadn’t realized that my review of Insanity would so strongly meet the needs of the Millenials., though I do suppose that in today’s political climate we’re all feeling on the cusp of a mental breakdown. Glad the post corresponded to your needs!
What an outstanding post, thank you a lot for rising this serious issue. Being deeply reassured that many of people would talk about your perspectives, and I showed your writing to a close friend of mine. And that’s when the arguments started…
We’ve got various views but, of course, no matter, be it only something routine or really important, should ruin a real friendship. In my humble view, which certainly has the right to exist, the very purpose you have made cannot be contested.
Wow, I am so glad you didn’t end your friendship over your heated discussions about my review of Timekeeper and Chainbreaker. I know some people get very serious about their fandoms, but let’s all remember what’s important here. Your humble view certainly has a right to exist, even if it clashes with your friend’s opinions.
The further I see, the more the better your content is.
I do think my content looks better from far away. And maybe if you squint a little. Much harder to catch any mistakes I may have made that way.
Thanks for sharing this information, I truly enjoyed your storytelling style. As a practicing author, I have always followed a instinctive logic it felt to focus on the topic -> come up with ideas/answers -> put it on paper. Yet, nothing could save me was writing concerning thermodynamics, by way of example, which, as you can guess, isn’t my primary area of experience. Anyhow, I took some Amazing tips from your writing style, thanks for that)
I have to admit that your instinctive logic about writing makes good sense. I mean, that’s pretty much what I do too—come up with ideas and put them on paper. Of course, since thermodynamics is obviously my area of expertise, I have no problems writing on that topic. Stick around here for lots more tips!
Wow, marvelous blog format! How long have you ever been running a blog for? you make blogging look easy. The whole glance of your site is magnificent, as neatly as the content!
The whole glance? I mean, I knew that if you peek at my blog quickly (perhaps from far away, while squinting), the blog seems neat and tidy, but I never dared to hope a whole glance would be so magnificent!
Hi there, i read your blog from time to time and i own a similar one and i was just curious if you get a lot of spam feedback?
If so how do you prevent it, any plugin or anything you can suggest? I get so much lately it’s driving me crazy so any help is very much appreciated.
Funny you should mention it … Nope, I don’t get any spam. At all. Ever.
And one last comment that confused me more than anything…
Hey Nicole, You had written such an amazing post some of my friend send me this post link to read. Best of luck with the editing and the plumbing.
Wow, you have confused me greatly. I mean, you’re obviously a real person—you used my actual name, and you commented on actual things I wrote in my latest Sunday Post (coherently). But then you also stuck that very badly worded sentence in the middle that ruins everything (not a particularly good advertisement for your ghostwriting services, since that seems to be what you’re linking to).
You’ve thrown off my entire concept of what it means to be a spammer and/or blog follower, and I don’t know how to address you now. Do I delete you? Actually respond? I DON’T KNOW!
(Fellow bloggers, help me out here.)
See, spam really can be fun! If you liked this post, check out my past spam posts—they’re good for a laugh!
Do you ever read your spam? Does it make you laugh? Remember any crazy spam comments? I want to know!
I love the spam about spam. fantastic!
I actually had several of these—pretty ironic!
ahahaah “my content do seems lot better for far away” welp xd that one made me cackle ahaha
Welp- that last one sure is confusing. I got one like that from a hat-blog (yep.. that’s right – BLOGGING ABOUT HATS) saying my name and how cute I was dressed in Link – and what I would say to a child who’s wanna dress up and create a costume. I was like I-erm … I bought it ?!
Recently i’ve been getting a whole lot just like “I think you’re wrong about this. DM me for details!” in all different sorts of way and im like – the fuck??
For some reasons the wierdest ones always seems to plop on reviews, eh?
Yes, every once in a while I get comments that I actually can’t quite figure out if they’re real or not! And I get ones that basically insult me sometimes too—there was one that I almost put in this post that was outright mean (the only reason I left it out is because I’m pretty sure I’ve already put a very similar one in an older spam post).
Spam comments about spam. I love it. These always make me laugh! I know what you mean about not knowing if something is spam sometimes or not though.
Yeah, that one really threw me. I ended up spamming it, but it’s the first time I actually felt a little bad about it.
I’ve gotten some confusing spam too! If it sounds like someone is trying to use my comment section to sell something, I mark the comment as spam so it gets removed. I probably would have spammed the ghostwriting comment. I don’t mind links to blogs, but I don’t love links to products or services.
Yeah, I decided to spam him, since it was obviously from someone just trying to get people to click on their link (and it’s not like I would be recommending their writing services to anyone). It’s the first time I can remember getting such personalized spam, though!
These are my favorite posts! LOL!! I didn’t know you’d been catering to Millenials, but it’s good you agree that their humble opinion has a right to be!
I didn’t realize I’d been catering to millennials either, but I’m so glad I’m helping them sort out their issues!
The plumbing was hilarious. I guess a good bot, though not entirely perfect
I suppose it could have been a really good bot. I think it’s more likely it was an actual person who was still totally spamming, though.
Hahaha! This is great. I’ve never thought about doing anything with my spam comments! I just delete them whenever I think to check and see what’s there. Sometimes I share them with my husband, but that’s about it. They’re always so random, and I wish I knew what brought them to my blog in the first place. Like, “Hi! What did you Google that sent you here?” (Because I’ll definitely change it…) <3
Lindsi @ Do You Dog-ear? ☃?
I always find these posts SO fun to do. Why not enjoy them a little!
These always crack me up. Thank goodness you’re helping the millenials out with cutting edge information. 🙂
Yes, I always knew I was cutting edge around here. I’m glad I’m finally getting some recognition for that!
These posts are always such fun! I now find myself reading my own spam and deciding how I’d respond to it. LOL!
You should do a post too! They’re quite fun!!
“The whole glance? I mean, I knew that if you peek at my blog quickly (perhaps from far away, while squinting), the blog seems neat and tidy, but I never dared to hope a whole glance would be so magnificent!”
The last one is downright creepy. They’ve started to custom-spam blogs now? Yikes.
Nothing but magnificent glances around here, let me tell you! 🙂
Ah, spam. I love the one that tried to spam you by asking about spam problems! Honestly, it’s pretty genius, I am low key proud of said spammer! And the one that wanted to chat about your plumbing problems!? Look at these spammers, upping their game! I like to think you had something to do with it via your Fun With Spam!
I know, these spammers are starting to get sneaky! It’s actually amazed me how many of them have managed to creep past my filter lately!
The odd comments that you can’t tell are real or spam always get me… And they seem to connect to real sites but of odd topics! The ones asking about advice about runn8ng a blog always make me laugh and shake my head too.
Yes, that one linked to a ghostwriting service, which seems almost reasonable. But then there’s that middle sentence that just proves the true spamminess.
“that’s when the arguments started” LOL! OH my gosh that is the best one yet! Watch out Nicole for causing a fight 😉 ha!
I know, right? I had no idea that I was causing such conflict!!!
Lol! I do check my trash/spam periodically and you’re right, Nicole, some of them are unwittingly hilarious. I love the ones you shared here.
I love doing these posts. It’s nice to use my spam for good instead of evil! 🙂
hahahah! I love these so much! Spam is so frustrating, but I’m glad you can get a laugh out of it!
I figure it might as well be good for something, right? 🙂
