Sunday Post: Book Pre-order Campaigns & Giveaways Galore – 5/17/20

Posted May 17, 2020 by Nicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction in Sunday Post / 30 Comments

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on my blog and share news about what’s coming up in the week ahead.

This past week on FYFA (and in my life):

Here’s what we’ve been up to while safe indoors this week:

  • Online school. Monday’s the last day!!
  • We watched:
    • The whole family watched the original Jumanji. We liked the new ones better, but it was fun to see where it all started.
  • I finished two books this week
    • I read The Henna Wars by Adiba Jaigirdar. I posted my review and a giveaway this week, so check it out!
    • I listened to the rest of Momentous Events in the Life of a Cactus. I liked this one even more than the first book!
  • We’ve been collecting stuff for our junk art project!
  • Thursday was my daughter Danielle’s 16th birthday! Her favorite things are crafting and baking, so we made a mask and lemon bars (she loves them SUPER lemony!) Thanks to all of you who went over to her blog and commented!  🙂
  • My mom came over yesterday for a social distancing outdoor visit. It was a beautiful day for it!

Here’s what you may have missed on the blog since my last Sunday Post:

  1. Wow! I totally zoned that my blogs anniversary is tomorrow. Wow! Thanks for reminding me! I cannot wait to see the art you make. What a fun family project.

  2. Hmm so what happens when school is out for summer? The kids will still need things to do. I remember playing outside, reading books, crafting, and swimming, and when I was older – sewing. There was no online. As difficult as things are, that gives them a connection option.

I think every week is getting away from many of us right now. Have a great week and stay well!

  3. Yay for the kiddos being done with school tomorrow! I only saw the first new Jumanji movie. It was cute, but I still like the original one best! Lol. I haven’t seen the second new one yet, hopefully it’ll pop up on Netflix soon. It’s so hard to keep up since there’s dozens of streaming services nowadays, I don’t know which one will get the movies I wanted to see but never got around to!

Yay for no books to the TBR pile either! Lol. I really only added one keeper copy and then got one review book that I am excited for! Plan to read that one as soon as I finish my current read. I’ve been feeling pretty good about not adding too many books to the TBR pile…but there’s still a backlist of new releases I need to buy that have yet to go on sale online somewhere. As soon as B&N sends coupons again, I’ll be hitting the store and spending my gift cards up! Lol.

    Happy Reading!

Happy Birthday to your daughter – sounds like she had a nice day. And I’m glad you had a socially distant visit from your mom. That had to have been nice! I spent a lot of time on my porch this weekend reading, which is always lovely. Unfortunately, it’s supposed to rain much of this week so I’ll be cooped up more. Bleh. Your junk art project sounds fun – I hope you share some photos!

  5. You like the new Jumanjis better? Blasphemy! I was actually surprised at how much I liked the new ones, I was all ready to hate them but they were so well done I couldn’t.Hope your daughter had a great birthday and enjoyed the lemon bars, I am very jealous I would love some lemon bars now.

  6. Yay for being done with school! My daughter’s last day is Thursday, and I am ready for a break. I love all of the Jumanji movies. They’re so much fun, and I love the humor in the newer ones. I’m glad your daughter had a great birthday 🙂

  7. Ahh yay for reading two books this past week, that’s so great. I wish I could read more, but the current situation gives me even less time to read than usual ahha.
Happy happy belated birthday to Danielle, glad to hear she had a lovely day! <3
    I hope you'll have a wonderful week <3

  8. I love the original Jumanji! It’s one of those things from my childhood… I’ve yet to watch any of the new ones but they look fun from their trailers. I’ll watch them at some point, for sure.

Glad you could have a socially distance chat with your mum in the garden. I fear it’ll be October or maybe even Christmas before I get to see mine with the way lockdown is easing here.
    🙁
