The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on my blog and share news about what’s coming up in the week ahead.

This past week on FYFA (and in my life):

  • What I Read:
    • More AMM submissions – Once again, most of my reading was Author Mentor Match submissions. But here’s the exciting thing: Megan and I have chosen our mentee! I can’t announce who it is yet, of course, but we both absolutely love this writer’s work and we’re excited to join them on their publishing journey!
    • Long Way Down: The Graphic Novel – Once we’d decided our mentee, I did have a bit of for-fun reading time, so I dove into the Long Way Down graphic novel. Loved it!! It’s very similar to the verse novel, but some things are taken out of the text and just shown in the art.
    • Ana on the Edge – Then I read AJ Sass’s middle grade book about a nonbinary competitive ice skater coming to understand her identity while also struggling through the rigors of competition. So good!!
  • TV We Watched:
    • SupernaturalStill working our way through season 8. We’re fans of this season (last season was … not our favorite).
  • Agility Training:
    • We’ve set up some makeshift agility equipment in our family room, and we practice a little bit each day at lunchtime. One of our main goals was to get him used to going into his crate for a bit each time we practice the agility so he’d feel like that was all part of the process. It worked! He went into his crate at the actual class with minimal bribing.
    • The one issue we did have was that when he gets riled up in the class (like when we’re doing jumps), he insists on grabbing his leash and playing tug of war with it. We ended up having to take him off-leash for most of the course (which works, since we do the dogs one at a time). Luckily, he’s great at doing everything even without the leash to guide him. Not too shabby for day three of class!

My daughter and Digit using some of our makeshift at-home agility training equipment (yes, we use boots to hold up the jump poles—they’re at a great starting height. LOL!):

Here’s what you may have missed on the blog since my last Sunday Post:

  1. Whoa! Log at that doggie go. Very nice! I read Long Way Down when it first came out. Punched me right in the feels. I want to read Ana on the Edge at some point. I saw the author skating with the book. It was very cool. Glad to hear you enjoyed it.
