Sunday Post header

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news ~ A post to recap the past week on my blog and share news about what’s coming up in the week ahead.

This past week on FYFA (and in my life):

  • Vaccinations! Our whole family was supposed to get our first COVID vaccination yesterday, but they called us day-of and told us that they only got Moderna, so our two 16-year-olds weren’t able to get theirs. My husband, my 18-year-old, and I still got ours, and I did find appointments for Wednesday at a place a little over a half-hour away, where my younger two can get Pfizer. Hopefully nothing goes wrong with that one.
  • More college research. Yep, this is just ongoing. You can read about my daughter’s woes in last week’s Sunday Post, so I won’t bother going over them again, but I’ve still been working on trying to help her find possible schools (and now she has another possible interest—physical therapy—so we’re thinking she just might want to major in biology somewhere and give herself time to figure out where to go from there).
  • What I Read:
    • I finished listening to The Burning Shadow by Jennifer Armentrout.
    • I read The Chance to Fly, Your Heart My Sky, and Turtle Under Ice. And I already reviewed all three. What sorcery is this?
  • TV We Watched:
    • Supernatural. We’re still working our way through season 10.
    • The Circle. I watched all the available episodes of season 2 in one sitting. I might have a problem. The next episodes will be available on the 21st, not that I memorized that date or anything.

Here’s what you may have missed on the blog since my last Sunday Post:

Book Haul:

Thank you, publishers and authors, for these books!!

For Review:

I received Turtle Under Ice and Your Heart My Sky from Simon & Schuster to feature during April since it’s National Poetry Month. I reviewed both of them yesterday, so check that post out!

I also received Nightingale from author Deva Fagan. Her last book, Rival Magic, won the 2020 MG spec Cybils Award and I loved it, so I’m excited to read this next book! Then, I also received Take Me Home Tonight by Morgan Matson. I’ll be participating in the tour for this one in May, so keep an eye out for that!

From NetGalley:

I got approved for The Lucky List by Rachael Lippincott, Sunkissed by Kasie West, and Six Crimson Cranes by Elizabeth Lim.

Great Discussions/Goings On Around the Blogosphere:

  • Sam @ We Live and Breathe Books took us on vacation with her, her daughter, and her sloth in Sloth Goes Places – Arizona and Utah
  • YALLWest is happening virtually from April 24th-26th (with some previews on the 23rd), so be sure to check it out!

  1. Good luck with the ongoing college research! It can be a handful! And with the shots as well. We got our first Pfizers this week so so far so good. 🙂

  2. I am sorry your two youngest weren’t able to get their shots yet hopefully things will work out with the next appointment. Good luck with the ongoing college search. I finished Supernatural not long ago and have been missing it. Do I want to start it all over again yet? I should resist. I hope you enjoy your current reads! Have a great week!

  3. I’m glad some of your family could get vaccinated, and that the younger ones have somewhere to go soon. It sounds like your daughter has a lot of great interests, so yeah, I think majoring in biology anywhere and then going from there sounds like the right idea.

  4. Ooh, season 10 of Supernatural has one of my favorite episodes, Fan Fiction. I feel like that is really the season when they started kind of spoofing themselves in the show and I love that kind of humor! College searches are always fun! Hope you are able to get the Pfizer shots for the kids. That is what I got, and I had no issues with it. And I see you were listening to Burning Shadow by JLA, I love that series! Have a great week!

  5. Good luck with the college search. Such a big decision, but at least some experience. Great you got Moderna. Right now they don’t think you will need more shots of that (I hate needles and get really sick just thinking about them). Nice, you got the new Matson. I read the Kasie West recently. It was classic West – low drama, cute, heartwarming. I love her books. Hope you enjoy it too

  6. Good luck on the vaccines – I hope it goes smoothly for all of you! We’re so late here in Italy, it’s not even funny. My 80+ year old parents are getting it while I’m typing…when my turn comes, I’ll be that old myself ?.

Good luck to your daughter for the college decision as well. I hope she figures the right path. I’ve never regretted anything so strongly as my own flimsy choices when I was her age. A good career (and life) I’ve built for myself since then ?.

S.10 of Supernatural was exponentially better than S.7 and 8 LOL.
