Sunday Post header

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news ~ A post to recap the past week on my blog and share news about what’s coming up in the week ahead.

This past week on FYFA (and in my life):

  • Vacation! I got home from my vacation to the Ozarks last Sunday. We had a fantastic time floating down the rivers and hiking. It was great to go on a vacation again!
  • Back-to-school for the kids. My younger two started school this week. It’s Danielle’s senior year and Noah’s junior year. Jade goes back to Illinois Tech next week. Here’s hoping this school year can be a lot more normal (besides wearing masks, which isn’t a huge hardship).
  • Writing: I haven’t gotten much done because of vacation and back-to-school stuff, but I got back to it on Friday, and I’ve promised myself I’m getting back to it for real starting this week.
  • What I Read:
    • I finished reading Paola Santiago and the Forest of Nightmares by Tehlor Kay Mejia and then read This is Not the Jess Show by Anna Carey.
    • I finished listening to The Beast Player by Nahoko Uehashi and then listened to History Is All You Left Me by Adam Silvera and started listening to Archenemies by Marissa Meyer.
  • TV We Watched:
    • The final season of Supernatural. We’re now 10 episodes in to season 15. It’s hard to believe we’re almost done with this whole series!
    • I finished America’s Next Top Model (kind of). I finished all the seasons that are on Hulu. I know there were a few seasons after the show switched from the CW to VH1, but those aren’t on Hulu, and I may or may not try to figure out if I can watch them at some point.

Here’s what you may have missed on the blog since my last Sunday Post:

Now on to this coming week:

Book Haul:

For Review:

While I was on vacation, a few books showed up for review! First off, I got What’s Inside a Flower, and the new board book versions of Women in Science and Women in Sports, all by Rachel Ignotofsky. Thanks, Rockstar Book Tours and Crown Books for Young Readers!

And then I also received Once Upon a Camel by Kathi Appelt, illustrated by Eric Rohmann. Thank you, Atheneum/Caitlyn Dlouhy Books!

  1. Wow, back to school time already! Summer flies by fast! Glad you had a good vacation in the Ozarks! Final season of Supernatural already! What did you think of Scoobynatural?? Omg, that has to be my favorite episode ever!! Lol.

Nice new reads! Those are new to me ones but I hope you enjoy them all!

    Here’s my StS

    Have a GREAT day!

    Old Follower 🙂

  2. That sounds like an awesome vacation! And I hope back to school goes well. I’m kinda nervous here with the delta variant running wild but I guess we’ll see how things go!

    Take care this week 🙂

  3. You’re already on season 15 of SPN?? Wow! I’m very interested to see what you’ll think of the series finally… it was quite polarizing. Even so, I’ve been thinking about going back and re-watching the show from the start. I miss the boys ?

  4. Aw so glad you had a nice vacation! Also, it isn’t even worth it to finish ANTM that switched to VH1, IMO. Kind of jumped the shark, for me. Wow almost done with Supernatural!? Impressive! I will be curious to see what you thought about the end- since the fans were consoling The 100 fans, and then we in turn consoled them bwhaha. Did you like Jess Show? I was a fan for sure!

  5. Glad you had a fun vacation before school started for your kids. I think you’re entitled to take a break off of writing when you go on vacation. Thanks for including my giveaways in your list. I appreciate it. Natalie @ Literary Rambles

  6. I’m glad you enjoyed your vacation! And yay for school starting back! Fingers crossed on a more normal school year. America’s Top Model may be the best show to binge ever and I don’t really like binging tv! Have a wonderful week!

  7. That sounds like an awesome vacation! Pics? ?

Let’s hope the new school year doesn’t suck, Covid-wise Having children/teens in school at a time like this must be exhausting.

I’m still waiting for the last season of Supernatural to air here – and trying to dodge spoilers, haha. But some stuff filtered past the barrier…?

Good luck with reprising your writing!
