The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news ~ A post to recap the past week on my blog and share news about what’s coming up in the week ahead.
This past week on FYFA (and in my life):
Happy New Year, everyone! Our NYE was low-key as usual, but we still had fun. We played games (I got Codeword and Mysterium for Christmas) and watched a movie.
- Writing. Due to a formatting change that I made that took a lot longer than expected, I didn’t quite meet my goal of finishing my manuscript by the end of the year, but I’m planning on working the rest of the day today, and hopefully I’ll finish.
- What I Read:
- I started reading Nightingale by Deva Fagan.
- I continued listening to The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by Victoria Schwab.
- What I Watched:
- I watched Season 3 of The Circle with Danielle, Noah and my mom. Definite guilty pleasure TV.
- The whole family watched Level 16 on Netflix—a pretty standard dystopian, but not bad if you ignore some plotholes. And then we also watched the movie version of Dear Evan Hansen. I know this movie has gotten a lot of bad press, but I loved the musical and went into the movie primed to like it. And I did, for the most part, though I still liked the musical better.
Here’s what you may have missed on the blog since my last Sunday Post:

The Circle. Is that associated with the book in any way? I have no idea about TV. I love board games. I wish I had people to play them with. Sounds like a perfect NYE to me.
There is an old show called The Circle that was related to a book, but this is a reality TV show on Netflix that’s supposed to reflect social media. It’s the epitome of guilty pleasure TV.
I loved Addie Larue but it is long. We need to play some games, we have many. Happy New Year!
Anne – Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
Yes, I’ve realized that it’s a long audiobook. I’m guessing it will take me quite a while to get through. (I used to listen to a lot more audiobooks when I drove more.)
Is this The Circle that’s based on L.J. Smith’s series? I remember CW having it some years ago but I never watched it since that wasn’t one of her series I got around to! Of course, you could be talking about an entirely different show here! Lol.
Glad you had a nice holiday! I hope you enjoy the books you received once you get to read them!
Here’s my StS
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂
No, this is a random Reality TV show on Netflix. But I actually did watch that other show back when it was on years ago, and I really liked it!
Happy New Year!!
Games are fun on the holidays. I discovered Sleeping Queens over Christmas (my daughters had it) and that was fun!
I’ll have to look up Level 16.
One of my favorite things about school breaks is the fact that we play so many family games!
Happy New Year.
My daughter talked me into watching The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. I liked it. But I haven’t seen The Circle yet.
Oh, I watched the first season of Sabrina, but then just never kept up with it. One of these days I’ll have to watch the rest.
Happy New Year! Glad you had a nice evening. I’m going to be starting my Cybil’s book reads for the second round of voting!
Yay! I hope you love them!
Hope you finish your manuscript soon! Glad you liked Dear Evan Hansen. I want to see it too. Happy New Year! Natalie @ Literary Rambles
I just finish the draft I was working on yesterday and sent it off for one last critique read before it goes to my agent.
I have to get to The Nightingale soon! Is one of the screen adaptations I’m more excited about! Have a great writing, blogging and reading year Nicole!
I actually just saw that on your blog, but I’m pretty sure this is a different Nightingale. That does look good, though!
Oh hey! Your website looks different! I like it. Very clean. Hope you’re all well there! Happy New Year!!
Thanks! Yes, I like this cleaner look a lot better.
We love board games but I haven’t ever heard of Codeword and Mysterium before. I’m going to go check them out, thanks for the rec. 🙂
Definitely check them out! They’re both really fun games! Mysterium is a bit more complicated, but they’re both great!
haven’t seen Level 16
