Sunday Post header

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news ~ A post to recap the past week on my blog and share news about what’s coming up in the week ahead.

This past week on FYFA (and in my life):

  • Nothing terribly exciting about this week. Like, I honestly can’t think of much I did.
  • Oh, except, I did watch a bunch of sessions from WriteOnCon. This online writing conference has to be the biggest bargain ever. It’s only $20 for extended access that lasts for a month and you get access to three packed days of sessions.

What I Read This Week:

  • I finished reading volume 2 of Heartstopper and National Geographic Kids’ Ultimate Book of the Future. I also read Turn the Tide by Elaine Dimopoulos, Wave by Diana Farid, and Only on the Weekends by Dean Atta.
  • I finished listening to The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater and started listening to This Savage Song by Victoria Schwab.

What I Watched:

  • I watched The Adam Project on Netflix. It’s a fun, wholesome time travel movie, and I really enjoyed it!
  • We continued watching the latest season of Alone.
  • We also started watching Business Proposal, a fun Korean romantic comedy with a dash of ridiculousness.

Here’s what you may have missed on the blog since my last Sunday Post:

Book Blogger Birthdays and Blogoversaries:

Happy birthday graphicHappy blogoversary graphic

Here are the birthdays and blogoversaries for this week! I hope you’ll go wish these bloggers well on their special days! Make sure you check out the calendar to see what you might have just missed or what’s coming up. (If you want to be added to the calendar, it’s easy! Just fill out the birthday/blogoversary form.

Book Haul:

From NetGalley:

Over the last few weeks, I’ve gotten some NetGalley titles I haven’t yet mentioned: Luminaries by Susan Dennard, As Long as the Lemon Trees Grow by Zoulfa Katouh, Bloody Fool for Love by William Ritter, and Answers in the Pages by David Levithan.

For Review:

I received National Geographic Kids’ Ultimate Books of the Future by Stephanie Warren Drimmer from Media Masters Publicity. Already read it, and I really loved this non-fiction title!

Purchased:

I bought all of the Heartstopper graphic novels (that are out so far) by Alice Oseman. As I’ve said in my last few Sunday Posts, my daughter Danielle is pretty much obsessed with the Netflix series (she watches at least a little bit of it every single day—no idea how many times she’s seen the whole series at this point). Well, she’s almost as obsessed with the books, and I’ve been loving them too! I still need to read book 4. Apparently, there are going to be 5 total. Can’t wait to read them all!

Then, I also bought Me (Moth) by Amber McBride and Holes by Louis Sachar because there was a good sale. I’ve been wanting Me (Moth) ever since I read it for the Cybil’s Awards (you can click on the link on the book name to see my review). It was definitely a favorite! Holes is a book I’ve been meaning to read for years, and I think I got it for like $2 because of the sale.

  1. I loved Heartstopper so much! I have had a lot of trouble getting copies of it through the Baker & Taylor orders at school last year before I saw it. And now that I’ve seen it I just have to go buy it at Barnes and Noble and donate my copies because it needs to be there! Will this be your first time reading Holes? It is so good! I’ll be reading Bloody Fool for Love in the next week or so too! So excited for that one. Have a great week!

  2. I really enjoyed The Adam Project. The kid who played young Adam was perfect. He acted just like Ryan Reynolds, lol. I haven’t watched any K-dramas for a while now. I love them, but I need to watch things that I can just veg out and I can’t do that while I’m trying to read subtitles. I hope you have a great week! 😀

  3. Ooh nice! I STILL need to read The Scorpio Races! I think I bought myself the paperback when the first book of her spinoff to the Wolves of Mercy series came out. So yeah…a long, long time ago! Lol. I remember watching The Adam Project awhile back with my mom as well. We were bored and it sounded interesting! I’m amazed by how far that one kid has come since then! Saw he’s going to be Percy Jackson and just saw him in another preview. It’s like daaaaannnng! Kid is going places!

Oh wow! Nice haul too! Lots of new reads this week! These are mainly new to me ones but I hope you enjoy them all!

  4. My (adult) kid loved the Heartstopper TV series. I haven’t seen it yet. Also, I really need to read The Scorpio Races one of these days. Looks like you had a good reading week, and a quiet week otherwise, which sounds just about perfect to me! I hope the coming week is even better, and more memorable in positive ways.
