Welcome to the June monthly link-up for the 2016 Book Blog Discussion Challenge hosted by Nicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction and Shannon @ It Starts at Midnight! So after June, the year is going to be half over. How is this even possible? Didn’t we just post the sign-ups for this round?! We have really been loving the creativity in your discussions, and enjoy reading them, so thank YOU guys for your amazing participation so far! I love a discussion 😀 The winner of our April discussion challenge link-up was Greg @ Book Haven! He got to pick a book he’d heard good things about, and chose Summer Days and Summer Nights. I feel like this was a good life choice (frankly, even for the cover alone), and I hope he enjoys it!! If you don’t know what this challenge is all about or haven’t signed up yet (but… Read more »

Challenges 2

I just finished off ARC April, and it was such a success that I decided to keep going with the Clean Sweep ARC Challenge in May! This challenge also allows me to read finished copies that were provided by the author/publisher, which is great because that means I can throw in some books I received from RT last year that I’ve been meaning to read forever! (Plus, I recently accepted some indie and self-pubbed books that I need to read!) I’m also planning to participate in the 24-hour readathon on May 21st! Here are some books I’m hoping to get to: (I probably won’t hit all of these — and there’s a good chance I might add others — but I’m going to try to mostly read/listen from this list in May!) Ironically, immediately after writing and hitting publish on this post, I went upstairs and pulled a book off my… Read more »

May Discussion Challenge Link-Up & Giveaway

Book Blog Discussion Challenge, Challenges, Giveaways (Ended) 3

Welcome to the May monthly link-up for the 2016 Book Blog Discussion Challenge hosted by Nicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction and Shannon @ It Starts at Midnight! This challenge has really been going strong! I love that it’s April and we’re still consistently getting over 80 discussions posted per month. Sometimes challenges start to lose steam by this time of year, but you guys are still coming up with great topics and doing lots of discussing! The winner of our March discussion challenge link-up was Kaja @ Of Dragons and Hearts! She got to pick a few different books she was interested in and I (Nicole) surprised her with one. I chose The Accident Season by Moïra Fowley-Doyle since I’ve been wanting to read it myself. (Shannon already read and reviewed it, and it was her review that convinced me that I needed to read this book). Actually, I was so excited about the thought of this… Read more »

I’ve decided to participate in Read, Sleep Repeat’s ARC April event to help motivate me to clear out some ARCs that have been waiting for me! I’m aiming for the The Silver Reader Level, which is 5-9 ARCs read for the month. Here are a few books I’m hoping to read in April (the first one’s already taken care of – my review goes up tomorrow!):

March Recap (incl. pics from my trip to Arizona!)

Challenges, Monthly Recap 39

My Goings On in March: It was a bit of a slow month around the blog since I was feeling a little slumpy and then headed out on vacation. I’ll be back full-steam ahead in April, though! I edited Allie Juliette Mousseau’s newest Adult/NA standalone, Stripped and started an edit of a book for a new client. We went to Tucson, Arizona for spring break and had a fabulous time! Not only did we get to visit my husband’s parents (who live in Tucson for half the year), we also got in some hiking in the beautiful desert terrain. We did a few hikes – one that was almost 9 miles and another that was a bit shorter, but got us up to a ridge with fantastic views (see the picture below). This is the first time I’ve ever been there when the cacti were in bloom and it was… Read more »

February Recap

February Recap

Challenges, Monthly Recap 18

My Goings On in February: I turned 42 this month. Yep, that’s right – I’m old. 🙂 But it was also my blogoversary, and my blog only turned three, so let’s just average those out, shall we? I did a proofread of A Faerytale: The Beloved by Genevra Thorne, which is being published by Booktrope. I’m still working my way through season 4 of Once Upon a Time (my official elliptical viewing pleasure). I really love this show!! I also started watching Fuller House with my kids. It’s incredibly cheesy (just like the original show was), but they like the goofy humor, and I get to reminisce a bit. I’m a bit surprised by how many sexual innuendos they pack into the script, but I guess that’s just the world today – I have to admit it makes me kind of sad. Oh, and my husband and I have been bingeing on Chuck for… Read more »
