February Discussion Challenge Link-Up and Giveaway!

Book Blog Discussion Challenge, Challenges, Giveaways (Ended) 12

Welcome to the February monthly link-up for the 2016 Book Blog Discussion Challenge hosted by Nicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction and Shannon @ It Starts at Midnight! Uh, what happened to January? Seriously, didn’t it just start? Good news though, one step closer to warmer weather, for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere (sorry to you southern folks)! The first month of the year was amazing for discussions. Great job, lovelies!! The winner of our December discussion challenge link-up was Lory @ Emerald City Book Review! She chose The Blood of the Martyrs by Naomi Mitchison as the book she wanted Santa to bring her. Good thing Santa has connections at The Book Depository, no? 😉 Also, just a sidenote, Lory’s blog design is one of our favorites, so you should probably go look at it because it’s pretty. If you don’t know what this challenge is all about or… Read more »

My 2016 Reading/Blogging Challenges

My 2016 Reading/Blogging Challenges

Challenges 32

First of all, if you’re here looking for my comprehensive list of 2016 Reading and Blogging Challenges, you’re in the wrong place. 🙂 Click the link to go there! These are the challenges I plan to participate in in 2016. Let me tell you, it was HARD to come up with this list because there are so many amazing challenges out there – creating that comprehensive list was dangerous! But these are the ones I ended up with: I thought I’d start with the obvious. Since Shannon and I are hosting this one, it would be a little strange if I didn’t plan to participate. The goal of this challenge is to post book related discussions (or getting to know you type discussions work too.) I have LOVED getting to know new bloggers through this challenge and reading everyone’s discussions. Seriously, this is the BEST thing I did in 2015! Goal:… Read more »

Looking for a List of 2016 Reading/Blogging Challenges? Look No Further!

Challenges 64

I’ve been trying to keep track of all the challenges I’ve been seeing around so that I can decide which ones I want to do in 2016 – and since I was doing that anyway, I thought I’d share. This is a list of all the challenges I’ve found – feel free to let me know in the comments if you know of another one and I’ll add it to the list! If you’re looking for some advice on how to wisely choose the challenges you want to participate in (and how to get yourself organized), check out my post: How to Keep Yourself Motivated and Organized for Reading Challenges. And Julie over at Chapter Break wrote this great post on How to Embed a Goodreads Shelf into a Blog Post! The Challenges Misc. 2016 Book Blog Discussion Challenge Sign-Up!

Book Blog Discussion Challenge, Challenges, Let's Discuss 137

Welcome to the 2016 Book Blog Discussion Challenge hosted by Nicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction and Shannon @ It Starts at Midnight! We came up with this challenge last year because we wanted to encourage our fellow book bloggers to not only read more (since there are already lots of challenges for that), but talk more too! Well, it was SO successful last year that we decided to bring it back! So often book bloggers mean to post more discussions on our blogs, but we just don’t quite get around to it. Well, we wanted to give everyone a little motivation to keep the discussions going, plus give us a place to link up our discussions so that more people will see our precious words of wisdom (or … you know … our GIF-filled rants). I hope you’ll join us for this challenge and pledge yourself to posting more discussions in this upcoming year. I… Read more »

How to Keep Yourself Motivated and Organized for Reading Challenges

Blogging Tips, Challenges, Let's Discuss 59

It might seem strange for me to write an organization post – after all, I’ve confessed on multiple occasions that I’m NOT an organized person. But that just means that I need to be extra careful about organizing when it counts! The only way that reading and blogging challenges really work is if you’ve got them organized. Now that the end of the year is coming up (hard to believe, right?), it’s time to start thinking challenges again. And this time I want to be ready! Two years ago, I signed up for about a bajillion reading challenges – I was easily reading over 200 books a year at that point (this year I’ll be down closer to 150), and I figured why not apply all those books to challenges? Well, it didn’t take me long to realize that reading the books for the challenges and actually keeping track of… Read more »
