Book Blog Discussion Challenge, Challenges, Let's Discuss 105

Welcome to the 2015 Book Blog Discussion Challenge hosted by Nicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction and Shannon @ It Starts at Midnight! This time of year, there are tons of reading challenges starting up (which we LOVE!). But we wanted to challenge our fellow book bloggers to not only read more, but talk more too. That’s where the idea for this challenge was born! So often book bloggers mean to post more discussions on our blogs, but we just don’t quite get around to it. Well, we wanted to give everyone a little motivation to keep the discussions going, plus give us a place to link up our discussions so that more people will see our precious words of wisdom (or … you know … our GIF-filled rants). I hope you’ll join us for this challenge and pledge yourself to posting more discussions in this upcoming year. I promise we’ll have lots of… Read more »

The Pros & Cons of Blogging

The Pros & Cons of Blogging

Challenges 0

Day 2: My Pros & Cons of Blogging I’m joining in on the New Year’s Challenge, which is being hosted over at Parajunkee! Each day, we’ll have a new post.  Today is all about the pros and cons of blogging Pros: All the awesome bloggers I’ve met! Interacting with authors! Feeling like someone out there cares what I have to say. Free books! Exposure to LOTS of books I otherwise would have never known about. The great feeling I get when someone compliments a review or my blog in general. Cons: Time. (I had no idea when I started how much it would take!) Pressure to keep up and grow my blog (all self-inflicted). Time. (Did I say that already?) That about sums it up.  I LOVE blogging, even if it does take up a lot of my free time.  My one year blogoversary is coming soon and I can’t wait… Read more »

Book Blogger New Year’s Challenge Day 1

Book Blogger New Year’s Challenge Day 1

Challenges 0

Day 1: My Blogger Resolutions I’m joining in on the New Year’s Challenge, which is being hosted over at Parajunkee! Each day, we’ll have a new post.  Today is all about our 2014 blogger resolutions! 1. Create a Feature (or Two) I’ve had an idea for a feature that I’ve wanted to run on my blog for quite some time now, but I never seem to get myself coordinated enough to actually put it together.  This year it’s happening!  I’d like to do something along the lines of “My Bookworthy Life” and compare some of the events in my young adult life to the YA books we all read – you know, things like first crush, first kiss, first real boyfriend, etc.  I love thinking about what type of book heroine I would have been and whether or not parts of my real life would have been “bookworthy”.  What do… Read more »

2014 Reading Challenges!

2014 Reading Challenges!

Challenges 0

I wanted to sign up for some challenges for 2014.  I didn’t have great luck with challenges last year.  Since I just started blogging last February, I didn’t really know much about them and I only signed up for one (The Debut Authors Challenge).  But, pretty early on I won one of the giveaways and never did receive my prize and I signed up for two debut ARC tours through the challenge site and never got those books either – so I kind of lost my enthusiasm for the challenge at that point and gave up.  But tomorrow starts another year and I’m looking at it as a clean slate!  Hopefully I’ll have more luck with my challenges this year!  In fact, I’m entering a bunch of them because, well, why not?  So here’s the ones I’ve signed up for so far: Hosted by: The Mad Reviewer Goal: Mad Reviewer… Read more »
