November Recap

November Recap

Best of the Bunch, Monthly Recap 19

My Goings On in November: I felt like November flew by! I honestly can’t figure out how it’s already gone! Luckily, I did manage to accomplish a few things. I wrote a play for my homeschool co-op musical theater class. Yep, I did it, and I’m actually going to let people see it. (You know, probably.) We finished up the first semester of homeschool co-op and we had our end of semester performances. The kids did fantastic, and it was lots of fun! I finished editing Defy by Allie Juliette Mousseau! I caught up on watching The Walking Dead on Netflix, so I switched to binge watching the second half of season 2 of The 100, and when I finished that, I moved onto Once Upon a Time (I’m on season 2 of that.) I need relatively exciting shows to watch while I’m on the elliptical to keep me motivated! And I’m trying hard to… Read more »

October Wrap-Up

October Wrap-Up

Best of the Bunch, Monthly Recap 9

My Goings On in October: My youngest turned 11! Kind of scary – my kids aren’t little anymore! I attended the YA Literature Conference (and the Fandom Frenzy day) at Anderson’s Bookshop. SO much fun!! Gymnastics competition season is starting up again. My daughter had her first mock meet last weekend! I finished editing Alyssa’s Redemption by Karly Morgan and started a first edit of Defy by Allie Juliette Mousseau! I binge watched more of The Walking Dead on Netflix. Just started Season 5 this week! Great Halloween viewing! I was featured over at Tripping Over Books, where I talked about the aforementioned TV obsession (and zombies in general!) Most Popular Posts: Still a little bit slow around here since I’ve been so busy, but things are definitely starting to pick up. Here were my most popular posts in October: September Wrap-Up and Giveaway – Ironically, last month’s wrap-up post (which was… Read more »

September Wrap-Up & a Giveaway!

September Wrap-Up & a Giveaway!

Best of the Bunch, Giveaways (Ended), Monthly Recap 29

My Goings On in September: I started teaching my homeschool co-op classes: Acting, Musical Theater and 5th/6th Grade Writing. Along with the school year comes activities – my daughter continues gymnastics (four days a week for three hours each time!) and my boys start swimming twice a week. Plus, we’re doing obedience classes with our two dogs – they’re actually doing really well with it (surprise, surprise).  Throw in random doctor appointments (and eye doctor, etc), my bi-weekly Bible study small group, which starts meeting again in the fall, and my teaching the K-1 class at church (which I do year-round, but just one Saturday/Sunday per month or so), and you have a very full month. Fall is always so busy, busy!! I did a first edit of Alyssa’s Redemption by Karly Morgan and a minor edit/proofread of Resounding Desolation by Kate Thomas. I binge watched on Netflix: The last few seasons of Switched… Read more »

August Wrap-Up

August Wrap-Up

Best of the Bunch, Monthly Recap 31

My Goings On in August: So, school has officially started now and life gets so much busier. August was a good time to get in those last hurrahs! Not too much exciting happened around here, though. Just catching up on things before it gets hectic. I finished proofreading The Undays of Aralias Lyons by K.L. Horvath and started editing Alyssa’s Redemption by Karly Morgan. My two older kids spent the end of summer at camp – my daughter does a horse camp every year and my son did a rock climbing/biking/rafting camp this year. So much fun! Most Popular Posts: A bit of a change-up this month. I was kind of surprised by my most visited post! Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon – 5 Star Review (Sort of) July Wrap-Up Round Up Giveaway (Yay! Make sure you check out the round-up giveaway for August, which will be posted on the 7th) What You… Read more »

July Wrap-Up (and a reminder about the NEW Wrap-Up Round-Up!)

Best of the Bunch, Monthly Recap 16

Wrap-Up Round-Up! I know I’ve been saying for a while that I was going to start a monthly wrap-up link-up so that we can all enjoy each other’s monthly wrap-up posts. Well, the time is now! Link up your monthly wrap-up post, and then next week I’ll create a scavenger hunt style giveaway to encourage everyone to check the posts out! Click HERE  for all the details and to join us! My Goings On in July: I can’t believe how fast this summer is flying by! I’m starting to feel stressed about preparing for the school year (I homeschool my two older kids and also teach a few homeschool co-op classes, so I have to get things planned!). This past week, my two oldest were at overnight camp, though, so I had some time to get myself coordinated! Still plenty more to do! Here’s what went on in July: My family… Read more »

Announcing the NEW Monthly Wrap-Up Round-Up

Announcing the NEW Monthly Wrap-Up Round-Up

Monthly Recap, Monthly Wrap-Up Round-Up 71

I don’t know about you, but I LOVE monthly-wrap up posts! I can’t possibly read every post from every blog that I would like to (trust me, there are hundreds of you out there that I would like to do that for), but I CAN read lots of wrap-up posts and then go and check out posts that specifically interest me that I didn’t originally see. That way I feel like I’m not missing out. It’s perfect! BUT I often miss people’s wrap-ups, too. Even though I try to keep my eye out for them at the end of the month, I KNOW there are plenty of posts that I miss. And this makes me sad. The solution? A Monthly Wrap-Up Round-Up, of course! If we have a place to link up all of our month-end posts, then we won’t miss out on what’s been happening on each other’s blogs. To… Read more »

June Wrap-up and Best of the Bunch

June Wrap-up and Best of the Bunch

Best of the Bunch, Monthly Recap 8

My Goings On in June: Summer is here and I’m taking full advantage! My family spent the last two weeks in June in Colorado, hiking, sightseeing, wild animal watching, gold panning, hummingbird feeding, wildflower picking, ropes course climbing, go-karting – and just generally having tons of fun!!  (Check out the picture of us up on Mt. Bierstadt HERE). I am still working on editing Summer Haikus by S.J. Pajonas and finished a proofread of Avalon’s Child by Leigh Bennett. I’m sure other stuff happened at the beginning of the month, but honestly, it’s all a blur now. Vacation has sucked away all of my brain cells. Most Popular Posts: The discussion challenge link-up wasn’t my most popular post this month, like it  usually is, but it still hit number three. The two even more popular June posts were: Faith in Blogging: How to Stay True to Who You Are Without Rocking… Read more »

May Wrap-up and Best of the Bunch

May Wrap-up and Best of the Bunch

Best of the Bunch, Monthly Recap 13

My Goings On in May: May was a VERY busy month for me! There were so many awesome things going on around here! I finished editing The Light by Kate Thomas and Burn by Allie Juliette Mousseau. Plus, I started working on Summer Haikus with S.J. Pajonas, who I’m excited to be working with because I’ve really enjoyed all of her past books (check out the link to see my reviews of her books that I’ve read so far). The weather finally warmed up and we got to enjoy Six Flags! Yay, rollercoasters! I had an amazing time at RT in Dallas, TX! A crazily full and exciting week! My husband spent lots of time trying to figure out why my site is loading so slowly (especially at certain times of the day) and trying to rectify the situation. Hopefully we got some solutions in place, but I think we may just have… Read more »

April Wrap-Up & Best of the Bunch

April Wrap-Up & Best of the Bunch

Best of the Bunch, Monthly Recap 10

My Goings On in April: I  posted a tongue-in-cheek April Fools’ post all about why I was planning to ban books in my household and give away all of my children’s books. Some of you thought I had truly gone insane! (I actually added April Fools’ to the title on April 2nd so that people wouldn’t be too confused.) I finished editing Baited by Ali Parker and started editing The Light by Kate Thomas and Burn by Allie Juliette Mousseau. Plus, I proofread the first of Zoe Reid’s serials and I did a critique for another promising new author! I made a fool of myself at a Neal Shusterman author event Our homeschool co-op finished up their school year (it ends a bit earlier than the regular year) and my acting and musical theater classes had their final performances. The kids did a great job! My kids also performed violin (my son played… Read more »

March Wrap-Up and Best of the Bunch

March Wrap-Up and Best of the Bunch

Best of the Bunch, Monthly Recap 32

My Goings On in March: I edited a paranormal novella by Kate Thomas called Resounding Truth (you can win a copy of it HERE) and started editing Baited by Ali Parker. I attended a Richelle Mead author event – such fun! My daughter finished out the gymnastics season. She still trains just as much, but competitions are over! Yay for more free time! Most Popular Posts: Google Analytics seemed to go a little crazy sometime this month (I didn’t notice it as soon as I should have) and suddenly said I have basically no visitors. After freaking out for a few minutes that pretty much all of my followers had abandoned me, I finally realized that there was a problem. (It was saying I had zero visitors on days that I had comments, so I knew something was wrong.) I think I fixed the problem. We shall see! Anyway, my stats for this month… Read more »
