Top Ten Tuesday (Top Ten Summer Reads) & Teaser Tuesday (Jack Templar, Monster Hunter)

Top Ten Tuesday (Top Ten Summer Reads) & Teaser Tuesday (Jack Templar, Monster Hunter)

Teaser Tuesday, Top Ten Tuesday 13

Today’s Top Ten Tuesday is the top ten books on my summer reading TBR list.  Here goes! Long Overdue (Meaning, everyone else has already read these!)        City of Bones – With the movie coming out soon, I really want to read this one. Cinder – I wasn’t sure if I was interested in this book or not at first.  Cyborgs are not always my thing.  But, it has gotten such rave reviews from so many people that I’ve decided to check it out after all. Shadow and Bone – Okay, I have to confess that I often judge a book by its cover and this cover just didn’t get me interested in the book.  But, the rave reviews did, so I definitely want to read it soon. The Selection – I’ve been wanting to read this book for awhile and I’m finally getting to it.  I actually picked this book up from the library just… Read more »

Giveaways (Ended), Reviews 17 ★★★½

Make sure you scroll all the way down to the bottom of this post to check out the Kindle Fire giveaway! Title: Family Magic Series: Hayle Coven Author: Patti Larsen Genre: YA/Urban Fantasy Release Date: October 27, 2011 Pages: 466, Paperback Goodreads Rating: 3.96 stars My Rating: 3.5/5 stars Content: Rated PG (one kiss and one magical battle scene – but definitely appropriate for younger readers). Summary:  Her mom’s a witch. Her dad’s a demon. And she just wants to be ordinary. I batted at the curl of smoke drifting off the tip of my candle and tried not to sneeze. My heavy velvet cloak fell in oppressive, suffocating folds in the closed space of the ceremony chamber, the cowl trapping the annoying bits of puff I missed. I hated the way my eyes burned and teared, an almost constant distraction. Not that I didn’t welcome the distraction, to be honest. Anything to take my mind from what went… Read more »

Armentrout Publisher:  Entangled Teen Release Date: May 8, 2012 Pages: 361, Paperback Goodreads Rating: 4.36 stars My Rating: 3/5 stars Summary from Goodreads: Starting over sucks. When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I’d pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring…. until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up. And then he opened his mouth. Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something…unexpected happens.  The hot alien living next door marks me. You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon’s touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I’m… Read more »
