Meet Cute: Some People Are Destined to Meet: Anthology Review

Meet Cute: Some People Are Destined to Meet: Anthology Review

Reviews 12 ★★★★

This fun anthology gives us the genesis of fourteen different relationships (or, at least, possible relationships). Most of the stories are contemporaries, but there are a few fantasy/sci fi stories to tempt those of us who like to escape reality now and again! I wrote down a quick review of each story as I read the anthology because they’re all so different, it’s hard to review the book as a whole. Here are my thoughts on my favorites: “Siege Etiquette” by Katie Cotugno This little story was a surprise, told in second-person POV. The story centers around two characters who’ve known each other their whole lives but find a connection while hiding out from the police at an underage party (in the bathroom). The story was a lot less “cute” than bittersweet, but I loved how much story Cotugno managed to stuff into such a small package! “Click” by Katharine… Read more »

Bite-Sized Reviews (and a Giveaway!): Eliza and Her Monsters, If I Fix You, The Gauntlet, Goodbye Days, and The Sun Is Also a Star

Giveaways (Ended), Reviews 34

Today I’ve got bite-sized reviews of a few of my recent reads. There’s also a giveaway at the end of the post, so make sure you check it out. I hope these bite-sized reviews will be enough to feed your fiction addiction! This book was adorable and made me want to read fanfiction. When a new boy named Wallace starts at her school, she discovers that he’s a MEGA-fan. He’s even writing fanfiction for her creation. But he has no idea that she’s the face behind the comic. And the closer the two get to each other, the harder it is for Eliza to tell him the truth. Of course, this does not end well (surprise, surprise). There were a few things… Read more »

Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon – 5 Star Review (Sort Of)

Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon – 5 Star Review (Sort Of)

Reviews 29 ★★★★★

This is going to be the shortest review I have ever written. There are no words that I can say that will sum up this book properly. Pretty much anything that I would say about it would be not enough and too much all at once, so I just can’t say anything at all. Except I will say – if you enjoy YA romance, READ IT. This book is very much YA romance, even with all of the other medical stuff in the synopsis. But it’s beautifully written and fun (with unique elements like illustrations and IM messages and Maddy’s book short spoiler book reviews interspersed). Again. Just read it. You need to. Don’t read the rest of this unless you’ve already read the book. And don’t read the comments either. Or any other reviews. Just read the book. ***Disclosure: This book was provided to me by NetGalley and the publisher in exchange… Read more »
