Review & Giveaway – Dark Light of Day and Fiery Edge of Steel by Jill Archer

Review & Giveaway – Dark Light of Day and Fiery Edge of Steel by Jill Archer

Giveaways (Ended), Reviews 0 ★★★★

Dark Light of Day is a unique fantasy novel that takes place after Armageddon – after the demons won.  The world is now run by demons, and humans with no powers (or Hyrkes, as they’re called in this book) are meant to adore them. Of course, someone has to keep those demons in line, and that’s the job of the Maegesters, humans with a drop of demon blood who posses waning powers – which gives them the ability to destroy demons. Typically, men are born with waning powers and women are born with waxing powers (which give the ability to heal). But Noon and her twin brother are anomalies – their powers were somehow switched at birth. Or at least that’s the way Noon sees it. She wants nothing to do with her powers at all, and hopes desperately that her best friend (who also happens to be an Angel… Read more »

Top Ten Characters I Love to Hate

Top Ten Characters I Love to Hate

Top Ten Tuesday 0

Today’s Top Ten Tuesday is: Top Ten Characters I Love to Hate Gotta give some respect to those villains, right?  Our books just wouldn’t be the same without them! Here are the ones that came to mind: From The Lunar Chronicles Wiki Queen Levana from Cinder by Marissa Meyer – I recently finally read Cinder, so this villain came immediately to mind.  Levana is amazingly beautiful on the outside (due to a glamour, of course), but completely evil on the inside. Her gift to Kai just after his father’s death pretty much seals her status as a perfect villain.  FreeDigitalPhotos.net Daedalus from The Lux Series by Jennifer L. Armentrout – Okay, this isn’t really a specific character, but a whole government agency. Of course, there are some nasty Arum in this series too, but I think it’s clear that Daedalus is home to the true bad guys! FreeDigitalPhotos.net The Doctor from All Our Yesterdays by Cristin Terrill – The doctor is… Read more »
