The Truth About Happily Ever After by Karole Cozzo: Review & Giveaway

Giveaways (Ended), Reviews 14 ★★★★

Once again, Cozzo gives us a realistically romantic story of fairy tale proportions. A little note about the genre: The book is officially billed as YA, but the characters are all in college, so I think of it more as NA. I think it’s YA because there are no actual sex scenes (a few implied fade to black scenes) and it’s overall a sweet romance, appropriate for high schoolers, even younger ones (there is a bit of drinking with a fake ID, but nothing else that would be seen as particularly questionable). New Adult readers who want books that cover the college-aged experience and don’t focus on sex would find this to be a perfect match! What Fed My Addiction: Fairy tale setting. The book takes place at a Disneyesque theme park and it was really fun to read about the job and how the people who work there as characters feel about it… Read more »

Been Here All Along by Sandy Hall – Review & Giveaway

Giveaways (Ended), Reviews 10 ★★★★

This book is sweet and fun and all sorts of adorable. It was a typical, simple high school romance, but it was kind of nice to see one of those with LGBT characters – without a lot of angsty complications.  What Fed My Addiction: Gideon and Kyle. It would be hard not to love this duo. They’ve been best friends for almost their whole lives – they bond over their love of Lord of the Rings (they even speak Elvish) and other geeky things. Kyle is a bit “cooler” than Gideon because of his athletic ability, but I love that they never let that get between them. When Gideon suddenly realizes that he has feelings for his best friend, he tries to talk himself out of it – after all, Kyle has a girlfriend and Gideon certainly doesn’t want to ruin their friendship. But it’s apparent that once he sees Kyle… Read more »

How to Keep Rolling After a Fall by Karole Cozzo – Review & Giveaway

Giveaways (Ended), Reviews 18 ★★★★½

This book was so much more than I expected it to be. At its heart, this is a story of redemption and forgiveness and finding your way past your worst choices. And, let’s face it, we all have choices we regret – it’s how we deal with them that matters. The synopsis does a great job of describing the plot, so I’ll jump right into my review. What Fed My Addiction: All the feels. This book put me through an emotional wringer and never let up. Not only did it make me cry (always a big bonus in my book), but I also found myself laughing at times, getting angry at others, and completely swooning over the plethora of sweet moments between Nikki and Pax. This is the single biggest factor that made this book shine for me – I felt so incredibly emotionally invested in these characters that I felt… Read more »
