I’m excited to announce that I’m going to be a judge for the Cybils Awards again this year! This time, I’ll be a Round 1 judge for the Poetry category, which includes poetry collections and verse novels for all ages, from little kid to YA.
If you’ve been hanging around my blog for long, you know that I’m working diligently on a draft of my own verse novel, so I’m excited to be diving deep into this category, and I can’t wait to read all of the books that are nominated. (And I do mean all. I’m going to try my very best to read every single one of them, a feat that seems doable for verse, but we shall see).
This year’s nominations open up on 10/1 for all categories and only run until 10/15, so be sure to nominate your favorites. I can’t wait to see what gets nominated!
Are you planning on nominating any books for the Cybils Awards? Do you look forward to seeing the list of nominees and winners? I want to know!
I didn’t know that the book you were writing was in verse…I must have missed something ?.
It’s hard to keep up with all our fellow bloggers, right? But, yep, my current WIP is a MG fantasy in verse. I must be crazy!
Good luck! I loved being a Cybils judge. I hope you have tons of fun and find some awesome books.
I’ve loved it every time I’ve done it too!
Congratulations and have a great time! I always nominate books in as many categories as I can… though poetry is a weak area for me.
What a perfect category for you, enjoy!
Yes, I’m excited about it. Thanks!!
I probably won’t be nominating any books, but I will be taking a look at the nominees to see which titles in verse I’m interested in! I’ve been reading slightly more poetry and in verse novels these past few years, but in recent months I’ve been slacking, so I could definitely use some recommendations to add to my TBR!
Have fun judging!
