Last week on FYFA (and in my life):
This week was crazy, as predicted (in last week’s Sunday Post). I ran hospitality for my daughter’s home gymnastics meet, feeding probably 200 people over the weekend. Those of you who read my blog regularly know that I am not an organized person. How I ever let myself get roped into this job, I will never know (I actually did it last year too, but I co-chaired with someone who was very organized and did half the work – this year, I ended up doing about 90% of the work because my co-chair just wasn’t available to do much). Oh, and the drama! There were so many people who just wanted to complain about things. (Oh, they just have fried chicken? Why is there so much pasta? There are so many cakes. There’s no more cream cheese for the bagels? Why don’t they have someone monitoring the volunteer room at all times?) I honestly wanted to pull my hair out by the end and yell, “Anyone who wants this job can totally have it! Feel free to jump right in!!” Ugh! The judges and coaches were all very wonderful and gracious, though (it was a bunch of the other volunteers who just wanted to complain). And since I’m a total people pleaser (as you just found out from my post on Thursday), this made the whole experience stressful and miserable. Anyway, I needed somewhere to vent, so you guys get to read about my personal drama this week. I’m sure you’re thrilled!
Here on the blog, I didn’t get quite as many posts up, but I’m sure you can figure out why from my little rant up there. Things should be getting back to normal soon, though! I didn’t get to my month end round-up or my review of Red Queen. Those should be coming next week!

That’s awful when people just want to complain. At least it’s all over now!
Unfortunately, we’re hosting another big meet at the end of March that I know they’re going to try to rope me into. My mom and husband keep reminding me I have to learn to say NO! 🙂
This is your Mom – Just say no> 🙂
Ugh, that gymnastics thing sounds like such a nightmare! I am glad it’s over for you. Ungrateful jerks, I’d have pointed them to the nearest restaurant 😉
Exactly! If you want a full menu feel free to drive yourself down the road!
I am looking forward to your review of Red Queen. I have heard great things about that one.
It was great! I need to get going on that review! 🙂
Omg, you are a super hero to survive that. I WOULD DIE. People can be so fussy and hard to please, gah. I used to do customer service and noooo, never doing that again. >.> YAY FOR ENSNARED THOUGH.
I actually kind of liked my job in customer service. I can deal with aggravation from strangers more easily than from people I “know.”
I plan on taking part of this challenge as well! You just reminded me that I need to get a post up too. I did this last year and LOVED it! I am so happy you are gong to do it too this year!
Opps sorry! LOL, I had two posts up and replied to the wrong one! How embarrassing! Congrats on all your books this week! Gah! It is way too early in the morning for me.
Quite alright. I suppose you’re allowed one mistake per month – just know that you’re getting your February mistake in pretty early!! LOL!
So glad the gymnastics fiasco is behind you. Don’t be afraid to say no next year! I’ll be looking forward to your review on Red Queen. I’ve been seeing mixed reviews for it.
Argh! I really dislike people like that! It isn’t your fault on whats available, if they want something else, they could’ve brought it!!
Oooh Ensnared… I need to get into that series!

Oh geez. I don’t know if I should say what I thought about Red Queen, or wait for your review. Waiting is probably safer. I had very strong feelings though. Very interested in hearing your take 😉
I cheated and peeked at Goodreads. We were opposite – which seems to be holding true for this book. People either love it or hate it! It’s kind of fun to read everyone’s reasons why, though!
