Sunday Post & Giveaways Galore – 7/9/17

Posted July 9, 2017 by Nicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction in Sunday Post / 36 Comments

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on my blog and share news about what’s coming up in the week ahead.

This past week on FYFA (and in my life):

I’m writing this post from the last swim meet of the season (for us—my kids aren’t championship swimmers). It’s an outdoor meet, so being on my computer in the sun is sort of challenging. Hopefully this post won’t be riddled with typos!

This week I’ve been working on a second edit of a YA paranormal called Acceptance. I always love seeing what an author comes back with after that first edit—it’s exciting to see a book transform!  🙂

Here’s what you may have missed on the blog this past week:

Next week on FYFA:

  • Blitz Event & Giveaway for RITA “Best First Book” Finalists
  • The Lake Effect by Erin McCahan: Review
  • What to Say Next by Julie Buxbaum: Review
  • Let’s Discuss: Something bookish! 🙂

Latest FYFA Giveaway Winners!!:

  • Megan @ Book Birds won the latest Monthly Wrap-Up Round-Up giveaway, and she chose Girls in Pants by Ann Brashares
  • Danielle H won The Sun is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon

Book Blogger Birthdays and Blogoversaries:

Birthday-150 Blogoversary-150x150

Here are the birthdays and blogoversaries this week! I hope you’ll go wish these bloggers well on their special days! Make sure you check out the calendar to see what you might have just missed or what’s coming up. (If you want to be added to the calendar, you can always fill out the birthday/blogoversary form.)

SO SORRY TO BE LATE WITH THIS FIRST ONE SINCE I DIDN’T POST LAST WEEK! MAKE SURE TO HEAD OVER THERE (Wendy even has a giveaway going!)

For Review:

I joined the tour for The Dragons of Nova, but first I need to read The Alchemists of Loom. I’ve only read one of Kova’s books so far, but I’ve been meaning to read more, so this seemed like a good opportunity! Same goes for Renee Carlino (except I actually haven’t read any of hers yet—but I’ve definitely been meaning to!). I’m excited to be joining the tour for Wish You Were Here!

And then I received this intriguing book in the mail: A Semi-Definitive List of Worst NightmaresWith a title like that, how can you go wrong?

Great Discussions/Goings On Around the Blogosphere:

Pre-Order Deals:

I’m now putting these in order of release date to make it easier on myself (and you, I think). Any new deals that I just added to the list this week will be denoted with a *** so you can easily find them!

Other Current Giveaways on FYFA:

(Besides the ones listed with this week’s posts)

Even More Awesome Giveaways on Other Sites:

Lots of good stuff! Have any giveaways or great discussions happening on your site right now? Feel free to share them in the comments!

Oh, typing in the sun is difficult! You did well though. And just to point out – I don’t think you linked to Wendy’s blog. You mentioned being late on it, but I think all the ones you have are for this coming up. 🙂 Just an FYI.

    • Thanks, Lauren! As you can see, I’m getting to these comments WAY late, so your helpful note was lost on me. Sigh. Actually, though, that was just an error where I left on a note from the week before, which was actually when Wendy’s blogoversary was. I knew doing my post in the sun would mess me up somehow! (It was VERY hard to see what I was doing.)

  2. I got the same book! Doesn’t it sound adorable?? I’m looking forward to reading it. ?
Thanks so much for announcing my blogoversary! Means the world to me!!

  3. I would never have guessed you wrote this post while at a swim meet. You have really perfected making the most of your time and multitasking. Lol!
I have some of Elise Kota’s books, but I have yet to read any of them. I bet she will be one of those authors I binge read a whole series of. Everyone seems to love her books.
    Have a great week!

  4. Is Wish You Were Here a new release? I’m a fan of Ms. Carlino so I’m surprised this book doesn’t look familiar to me. Mind you, I’ve been MIA for weeks now so that’s probably why.

    Happy reading, Nicole!

  5. I used to attend my BFFs swim meets, gets hot as heck out there so I’m sure your glad to be finished 🙂 Semi-Definitive List of Worst Nightmares sound good and looks adorable. Hope you enjoy and have a lovely week 🙂

  6. I’m looking forward to seeing your thoughts on What to Say Next. I really loved Tell Me Three Things last year so I’ve been excited for WTSN. I plan on starting Wish You Were Here very soon. I just ‘discovered’ Carlino last year and became am instant fan. I’ve read two by her so far and loved them both.

  7. I love round-up posts like this….makes me feel like I accomplish so much just from reading them. 🙂

I’m celebrating 7 years of blogging with a giveaway every day in July. Lots of chances to win books and gift cards!

  8. I work outside a lot at the pool so I feel you on the challenge of computing in the sun. I always have to turn up the brightness, and then when I get home, I’m blinded by my screen! Lol.

    • I was actually using my phone and I went to go see if I could adjust the brightness (I couldn’t—it was already all the way up) and I accidentally turned it all the way down and then couldn’t adjust it again because I couldn’t see the screen at all! I had to go into the bathroom to change it. Oops!

Ohhh I’ve been meaning to read a book by Renee Carlino also. I hope you have a lot of fun discovering her work! And here’s hoping you have a fabulous next week and that you get to enjoy typing your next Sunday post indoors.
