The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on my blog and share news about what’s coming up in the week ahead.
This past week on FYFA (and in my life):
- LET US REJOICE!!! Did anyone do anything this week besides stare at the news and stress? Because that basically describes my week. Tuesday night I fell asleep feeling bleak about the state of our country and Wednesday I woke up with renewed hope. Then, I basically cycled through emotions like I was being put through a spin cycle for the next three days. Still, boy what a high did we end on!! Take that, 2020!!
Now, somebody tell me this hat is not the absolute best thing you have ever seen.
And then there’s this inspirational image created by Bria Goeller and goodtrubble:
- Reading/Blogging
- Before the elections, I still managed to get a little reading done for the Cybils Awards.
- I finished listening to The Green Ember and started listening to Into the Tall, Tall Grass.
- I also read Middle School Bites.
- I started writing a bite-sized review post, but just couldn’t concentrate enough to finish. Guess it will go up this week.
- Installing a closet in the basement and putting up room divider shelving. We’re trying to get things ready for Jade to come home on Thanksgiving because she’s probably not going back to live on campus. We found a built-in closet system on Facebook Marketplace, and installed it last night (taking a break to watch Harris and Biden speak). Now Jade has plenty of storage space! Next we’ll probably go back to working on the office doors (drywall work, painting, etc.). We didn’t bother even attempting to do any work during the week.
We also put up some modular shelves that we’re going to use as a room divider so that Jade has some privacy in the basement (we’re going to put on a back to block it from the “hallway” side). The room is shaping up!
- The Dogs! We got a new Barkbox (that’s an affiliate link, by the way), and I have to tell you, we’re still loving this company. The whole family gathered around to open the box. LOL!
Here’s Digit enjoying his turkey (with can o’ dog food stuffing) and Bella and Danielle being lazy in the basement while the rest of us worked hard. 🙂

Anne – Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
Nice to be back on solid ground!!
I saw that hat earlier and honestly I cackled a little because THE CHEEK. ? There was also one with the electoral college map and a video edit of Blackpink’s How You Like That playing over it and honestly, despite not liking the song initially… I’ll never think of that chorus the same way again. ?
Seriously, though, it’s been SO STRESSFUL. I’m glad that’s over with but there’s still a long way to go, unfortunately, assuming we don’t fall back again. ?
I love those shelves! I’ve been eyeballing some to eventually get when we move, preferably ones I can move around easily (minus books).
Thank you for sharing my post! ❤️
I’ve been useless since Tuesday because I’m a wreck. I’ve been swinging back and forth between excited and terrified. It’s very hard to get anything done. Your basement looks great. I love that big shelf and wish I had space for something like that.
Also, I’m hosting a giveaway on my blog. I’m giving away a $100 book shopping spree for the holidays.
What a week, am I right? I cried happy tears this weekend. <3 I love what you've done with your basement for Jade. I hope she enjoys the new space you've made for her. We also love BarkBox here. The kids gather round to open the box for Lulu.
It was quite a week, and I am relieved with the results. It’s going to be an interesting few weeks though, and I worry what 45 and his cronies will do in the meantime. The closet and divider look amazing, Nicole. I hope you have a great week!
Yup, I too was a wreck for most of last week. I think a huge percentage of the population was. But Saturday was great! I loved listening to their speeches Saturday night. Here’s to more productivity now that we’re not all a bundle of nerves!
Last week was so rough. It was so nice to hear Biden and Harris speak on Saturday though. I just need them running things ASAP so I can relieve some of this “omg, why can’t he concede and leave us alone” anxiety. LOL
It’s looking great in your basement! And glad the doggos are enjoying their mail. 😉

I think the room looks great and I love that cabinet shelf. I need one of those for my bedroom. lol
i love all your pics and enjoyed some smiles
Still trying to catch up on sleep over here. It’s nice to have some hope again. Loving the home projects!!
Really loving that Bark Box! Totally cute!
It was stressful enough to watch the election from this side of the Atlantic, I can’t imagine what it was like over there! (Although, we are all now fans of CNN because… that’s what your news is like, apparently! I RT’d someone who wanted the Senedd (Welsh Parliament) elections covered the same way next year, b/c screaming about Plaid taking the lead in Carmarthen East would be the best thing ever!)
