Richelle Mead Book Signing Event Recap

Richelle Mead Book Signing Event Recap

Last Friday, I headed to Anderson’s Bookshop for the Richelle Mead book signing. I was so excited to meet her and to get the final book of the Bloodlines series. Those of you who read my blog all the time know that Adrian is one of my all-time favorite book boyfriends (honestly, even with VA, I was pretty much Team Adrian all the way), so I’m really excited to read more of him! (The only reason I […]

Fierce Reads Tour Recap & Giveaway – With Marissa Meyer, Nikki Kelly, Gennifer Albin & Jessica Brody

On October 10th, I headed out to the Arlington Heights Public Library to the Fierce Reads tour. This tour was incredible because the authors were obviously just having SO much fun!  I thought I’d share a few highlights and pictures: Just look at that awesome cake (the picture up at the top). Isn’t it fun?! Gennifer Albin is bloodthirsty. And hilarious. She had me laughing the whole time. One example: apparently, she is constantly thinking about […]

YA Fandom Frenzy

YA Fandom Frenzy

On Sunday, my mom (whose birthday we were celebrating!!) and I went to the YA Fandom Frenzy (hosted by Anderson’s Bookshop). There were 40 YA authors there, and probably about 200 attendees. It was all a bit crazy, but also really fun!! Here are some of the highlights: Cassandra Clare and Holly Black were up first (both with very colorful hair!), and they talked about their process for writing The Iron Trial. They said that basically, […]

BEA Recap Day 2

BEA Recap Day 2

I’m too tired to do a long post about today, but I thought I’d come do a little update.  Today the mad rush truly began.  But, surprisingly, it wasn’t as crazy as I thought it would be.  Maybe it’s because I went in with a pretty low-key attitude, but I didn’t feel terribly overwhelmed.  I think it helped a lot that I met up with some really awesome bloggers who made the day incredibly fun. […]

BEA Recap Day 1

BEA Recap Day 1

Travel Woes So, I made it through Day #1 of my very first BEA!!!  It was looking a little touch and go there for a while, since my flight was delayed by about 2 hours (and some flights from Chicago to NYC were cancelled).  I was just praying that I would make it here at all!  My poor roommate (Jennifer from Live to Read, Read to Live) flew all the way in from Ireland and […]

Barbara Vey Readers Luncheon

Barbara Vey Readers Luncheon

Me and Mary Buckham with her book (which she signed for me) and the “shapeshifter” that she gifted me with. Last Saturday, I was lucky enough to be able to attend the Barbara Vey Readers Luncheon in Milwaukee.  I was surprised at what a big event this was – there were 60 authors in attendance including some big names like Debbie Macomber (who was the keynote speaker and was quite funny) and Gena Showalter.  There […]
