July-Discussion-Challenge

Welcome to the July monthly link-up for the 2016 Book Blog Discussion Challenge hosted by Nicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction and Shannon @ It Starts at Midnight!

Well, we’ve done it. We made it through half the year and we’re still discussing! I know things are crazier for a lot of us during the summer, so don’t feel bad if you slip up a bit and don’t manage to post a discussion as often as you meant to – sometimes life gets in the way. Just get right back on the horse and keep writing!  🙂

The winner of our June discussion challenge link-up was Kristen @ Metaphors and Moonlight! She chose Roadside Magic by Lilith Saintcrow. Happy reading, Kristen!

If you don’t know what this challenge is all about or haven’t signed up yet (but want to), head on over to the challenge sign-up page to learn more! Even if you’d rather not join, we hope you’ll stop by occasionally to check out the MANY discussion posts that are being linked up here – there’s lots of great discussions going on!

If you need some ideas for discussion ideas this month, try out one of these topics:

  • Lots of bookish movies coming out lately. What’s been your favorite movie based on a book? Or is there one you hated?
  • Independence Day is coming here in the US. Tell us about your favorite coming-of-age story.
  • Tell me about your ideal bookish date. Would you re-enact a romantic scene in a book? Visit bookish sites? Have your significant other serenade you with your favorite swoonworthy quotes?

Looking for more inspiration, or want to see some discussion posts as an example? Check out the discussion posts on Feed Your Fiction Addiction or It Starts at Midnight (click the links to be brought directly to our discussion posts).

Giveaway

I’m going with the Independence Day theme since that’s the holiday that’s currently on our mind here in the US. For this month’s giveaway you can pick any romance or coming-of-age story. Tell us about why you’re eager to read about the fireworks between the main characters in your choice – or about how the main character found him or herself and gained a little independence! As always, the giveaway is open internationally as long as The Book Depository ships to you. You can choose any book up to a $17 value. Just follow the Rafflecopter instructions to enter!

Make sure to link up all of your July discussion posts here. This linky and the July giveaway will be open until August 7th (to give people a little extra time to link up – just in case you’re disorganized like we are). If, by some chance, you forget to link up a post this month, you can add it to next month’s linky (but no duplicates, please).
