Sunday Post & Giveaways Galore – 4/9/17

Posted April 9, 2017 by Nicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction in Sunday Post / 22 Comments

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on my blog and share news about what’s coming up in the week ahead.

Last week on FYFA (and in my life):

I had the chance to go see Laini Taylor this week for her Strange the Dreamer tour. I’ve (finally) been listening to her Daughter of Smoke and Bone Series via audiobook, and I’ve been loving it, so I jumped at the chance to meet her! As expected, she was funny and lovely—I’ll try to post a recap this week if I can!

Here’s what you may have missed on the blog last week:

Next week on FYFA:

  • Dream Magic by Joshua Khan: Review & Khan’s Top Ten Addictions
  • Ignite by Danielle Rogland: Review
  • Defy the Stars by Claudia Gray: Review
  • A recap of the Laini Taylor event
  • Let’s Discuss: Something bookish! 🙂

Book Blogger Birthdays and Blogoversaries:

Birthday-150 Blogoversary-150x150

Lots of birthdays and blogoversaries again this week! I hope you’ll go wish these bloggers well on their special days! Make sure you check out the calendar to see what you might have just missed or what’s coming up. (If you want to be added to the calendar, you can always fill out the birthday/blogoversary form.)

Book-Haul

My mom and I met Laini Taylor at Anderson’s Bookshop this week and I got a copy of the book signed, of course!

  1. Congrats on meeting Laini Taylor! And you’re reviewing Defy the Stars this week- yay. I just saw Shannon’s mini- review and I think I want that one! Looks good.

    Have a fabulous week Nicole!

  2. Thanks for sharing the picture. How cool to get to meet the author. I’ve read the book, and heard it was awesome on audio.

  3. How awesome that you were able to meet Laini Taylor! I just love author events. I’ve actually never read her DoSaB series. The only thing I’ve read from her is her short story that was included in the My True Love Gave to Me anthology. And, to be honest, it my my least favorite of the 12 stories. *cringe* It was just so… out there… and made me wonder if her writing just isn’t for me. I still own the DoSaB books so maybe I’ll still give them a try at some point.
Hope your week is off to a great start, Nicole!

    • I haven’t read MTLGtM, but sorry you didn’t love Taylor’s story in it. Her stories are a bit out there in the fantasy realm, but I find myself LOVING them. Might be hard with a short story, though, because you don’t have enough time to truly establish a lot of things.

  4. Hi, Nicole! Thanks for visiting my blog! I’m so sorry it took me so long to answer and visit your blog. Actually one of my friends made a link to you wonderful A Book Blogger’s Guide to Acronyms, Terms and Slang back in February, and I followed your blog right away. I like your writing style and it looks like our tastes in books are similar. I had all intentions to be a regular visitor, but real life took me away. I’m currently taking my PhD program and unfortunately my blogging time will be limited until summer.

I’m so jealous of my US friends who can meet authors. I haven’t read Daughter of Smoke and Bone Series yet and I want to do it in audio format. I’m glad to hear you are enjoying it. Do you listen to a lot of audiobook? I’m a big fan, I even have audiobook related feature on my blog Audio Obsession.

    Have a great week!
