The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news ~ A post to recap the past week on my blog and share news about what’s coming up in the week ahead.
This past week on FYFA (and in my life):
- Marathon recovery. So, the marathon did a real number on my stomach. I was a bit disappointed since even my twenty-mile practice run had gone so well, and at only 14.5 miles I started getting a stomach ache. By the time I got to 22.5 miles, I just had to walk the rest of it (besides a short bit at the end when I ran to the finish line). Still, I didn’t give up. I finished. I can say I finished a marathon, which is more than most people can say. But my stomach did not like me for the next couple of days, and of course, my legs weren’t my biggest fans either. There was some recovery time needed.
- Family weekend at Purdue. We spent this weekend visiting Danielle at Purdue. We got to meet with people from her department, watch her acapella group perform, and just generally see the campus from her perspective now that she’s been there for a bit. We also did an escape room with two of her friends (and one friend’s mom), which was fun!
What I Read This Week:
- I read Moonwalking by Zetta Elliott & Lyn Miller-Lachmann. Then I started reading Freestyle by Gale Galligan.
- I continued listening to Made You Up by Francesca Zappia, but when it was time to run the marathon, I decided to get a new book so I wouldn’t have to switch partway through. So I ended up also listening to Fairy Tale by Stephen King.
What I Watched:
- I finished season 1 of TRAVELERS. Really loving this show!
- I’ve also been watching THE MOLE. I love that it kind of reminds me of an elaborate escape room game with someone trying to mess you up.
Here’s what you may have missed on the blog since my last Sunday Post:

I don’t care if you walked any part — YOU FINISHED A MARATHON!!! That’s amazing and something to be proud of. Escape rooms are so fun. It’s a nice way to spend time with the kid.
Wow. I’m so impressed you finished that marathon! Congratulations!! I know it wasn’t what you hoped for, but still, it’s amazing that you crossed that finish line. So, will you do another one? 🙂 I’ve heard they’re addictive!
That’s AMAZING that you finished the marathon. Wow, well done. I hope you feel better soon and your recovery goes well.
Congrats on the marathon! Stomach issues were a massive problem for me when I was running a lot. If I didn’t eat, I’d get dizzy on longer runs. If I did eat, I’d get stomach cramps and throw up. I never figured out how to solve this.
