Sunday Post & Giveaways Galore – 4/29/18

Posted April 29, 2018 by Nicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction in Sunday Post / 38 Comments

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on my blog and share news about what’s coming up in the week ahead.

This past week on FYFA (and in my life):

I totally reorganized my bookcases yesterday! (And my closet, but who cares about that?) I was going to add some pictures here, but then I decided I’d give them their own post because my hours and hours of work deserve more attention. (And I need post ideas lately. LOL!) SO, check in Wednesday if you want to see pics. You’ll get a tiny preview in the Book Haul section, though.  🙂

Here’s what you may have missed on the blog this past week:

Book Blogger Birthdays and Blogoversaries:

Birthday-150 Blogoversary-150x150

Here are the birthdays and blogoversaries this week! I hope you’ll go wish these bloggers well on their special days! Make sure you check out the calendar to see what you might have just missed or what’s coming up. (If you want to be added to the calendar, it’s easy! Just fill out the birthday/blogoversary form.)

Book-Haul

For Review:

I received The Storm Runner from Disney! I’m really excited about this one! (And don’t my Book Haul pics look so much prettier with my new bookshelves?)

Purchased:

I bought some books for my daughter Danielle for her birthday from Book Outlet, and of course, I had to get myself up to $35 for the free shipping. Such a tough life! I was intrigued by the concept of Because You Love to Hate Me. And I am now finally the proud owner of a Paula Stokes book (you can see my post about that here): Girl Against the Universe. I’m excited about If You’re Reading This because I’m doing that workshop with Trent Reedy in June, and lots of you had good things to say about Hello, Universe. Finally The Afterlife Academy was basically an impulse buy based on the cute cover and the very low price that helped me get to $35. (I mean, I looked it up on Goodreads too, but…)

Great Discussions/Goings On Around the Blogosphere:

Pre-Order Deals:

Listed in order of release date. Any new deals that I just added to the list this week will be denoted with a *** so you can easily find them!

Please note: Almost all pre-order giveaways run “while supplies last,” so I can’t guarantee that they’ll be open until the date listed. Pre-0rder early for your best chance to get all the goodies!

  1. Yay for organising your bookcases! I seriously need to redo mine soon, because my little niece decided it would be fun to rearrange them herself the other day, and now they’re all over the place! 🙂
Thanks for mentioning my post, and have a great week! 🙂

  2. Ooh nice new reads! Some new to me ones there! Hope you enjoy them all!! And ooh, liking the peeks at your bookshelves! Reorganizing those things are definitely a workout! Can’t wait to see what the finished product looks like! Have a GREAT week!

    Here’s my STS

    Have a GREAT day!

    Old Follower 🙂

  3. Nicole! I cannot wait to read about your newly organized shelves. Please, please share your process on how you decided to organize them. Right now, my shelves are messy with double stacks of read books and overcrowded unread books on other shelves. It does take some getting used to, when you change the shelves, but it is a nice change.

How old is your daughter? If you two feel comfortable, it would be so interesting to see what she likes to read and how she goes about choosing new stories? It’s something really fascinating. How do younger people find stories?!

By the way, that Afterlife Academy book looks cute! I love the cover. I am going to look more into it and perhaps add it to my wish list. Girl Against the Universe is also promising. But, I worry that the PTSD could trigger my own discomfort. I’ll have to wait and see what you think of it and do a little more research on it.

It’s always nice to stop by here. Thanks for writing beautifully and in a relatable way. *offers hugs as a thank you*

    • Danielle is 13. She’s a tricky reader right now because she doesn’t like books that are too sad or violent—she still sticks with a lot of MG (as long as it’s not sad MG!). She actually re-reads one series over and over and over again. The Warriors series by Erin Hunter. I’m glad she loves it but sometimes I want her to move onto other things. LOL! Thanks for your sweet words, by the way!

  4. Bookshelf reorganizing is a therapeutic activity, I’ve decided. 🙂 A stress reliever maybe. Ha ha can’t wait to see pics! Girl Against the Universe sounds great (I’ve been wanting to read Paula stokes), and so does The Storm runner.

    Have a great week Nicole!

  5. Okay, I have a feeling your reorganized bookshelves are going to make the librarian in me cringe, I may have to skip that post! 🙂 I need a weekend to re-do mine, but I was hoping I’d be moving and then I could wait and re-do them in a new house. Oh well. Some day! I’ve had to pretty much delete the Book Outlet emails without looking at them, or I’d be spending constantly. However I keep going into the Dollar Tree stores and grabbing all the books I think would be good for my library. Hope you have a great week!

  6. Oh, my books are in boxes waiting for the big move so I guess I will reorganize them then – I just love doing that. But I could tackle my closet tomorrow! Ha ha!

Enjoy your books and have a great week!

  7. Congrats on getting your bookshelves rearranged. I did that a few years ago, and my arms hurt so much afterward. Carrying huge stacks of books around the house was a workout. I hope you’re having a great week!
