The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news ~ A post to recap the past week on my blog and share news about what’s coming up in the week ahead.
This past week on FYFA (and in my life):
I hope everyone in the US enjoys the 4th of July tomorrow!
- Well, I think last week I said I was over COVID, but that wasn’t exactly true. I had a day or so of reprieve where I thought I was feeling better and then promptly felt worse again. I finally started actually feeling better on Thursday. So, this time I’m hopefully actually done with it.
- I tried to get back to my marathon training, and I’m basically back to where I started. My first run after being sick, it felt like my feet were weighted. Ugh!
- What I Read
- I read The Name She Gave Me by Betty Culley, The Girl from the Sea by Molly Knox Ostertag, The Pants Project by Cat Clarke, Lia Park and the Missing Jewel by Jenna Yoon, and Aru Shah and the End of Time: the Graphic Novel by Roshani Chokshi, adapted by Joe Caramagna, and illustrated by Anu Chouhan.
- I finished listening to Light Years from Home by Mike Chen and started listening to Bravely by Maggie Stiefvater.
- What I Watched:
- I continued watching God’s Favorite Idiot. Some of the episodes are more interesting than others, but I really enjoyed it overall.
- We watched a bit of season 5 of Angel. It’s just not the same without Buffy, though. 🙁
- We watched the first few episodes of First Kill to help us through our Buffy withdrawal. I’m definitely liking this show!
- And then we watched all of season 1 of Heartstopper. Twice. In a row. Danielle is in LOVE with this show. In fact, she would have been happy to just watch it again instead of watching anything else. Anyone know of any shows that are similar? She needs more!!

Oh that’s no fun about Covid. That virus seems to have a knack for doing that- you start to feel better, then it hits you again. I know I had that too when I had it. I hope you truly are feeling better now!
Happy 4th of July too!
I’m hopeful that it will stick this time. I’ve felt good since Thursday, so I think I’m good now.
I’m glad you’re finally feeling better. I had the same thing happen to me when I had COVID last month. I still feel some residual fatigue, but nothing like before. I hope you have a nice week.
Ugh, glad you seem to finally be feeling better though! Yes! First Kill reminded me so much of Buffy and I loved it! Hope it has more episodes soon! Hope you have a good week and keep feeling better!
I hope that you’re now done with Covid – and it’s done with you!
My (adult) child loved Heartstopper! I’ll have to put it on my to-watch list.
Covid is the worst. I hope you are definitely on the upswing and good luck with the marathon training.
I’m so sorry you’re COVID isn’t completly gone yet. I hope you feel better soon. I really want to watch Heartstopper soon!
Good news to hear you are beginning to feel better!
Heartstopper is just wonderful, still watching the series and enjoying it!
Hope you’re over COVID. I want to read Lia Park too.
I definitely relate to the COVID feelings. I got it last week and thought for sure I’d be fine by now, I told my manager I’d be okay to return to work this Wednesday but now I’m not so sure lol. I think we need to remember to take things slow when it comes to this virus.
I watched Heartstopper while recovering and adored it! I haven’t found a show quite like it, it has just the right amount of fluff and light-heartedness.
Angel gets messy in the final few seasons lol! I’d be curious to know what you think, I personally did not enjoy those later seasons at all.
I hope you’ll be back to feeling great soon.
Covid recovery is tough! It took a long time for me to come back from it. Hope you feel better soon!
I hope your COVID battle is finally over this time. Just remember to take the recovery slow!
Covid can be so up and down, so hopefully that was the end of the worst for you!
I still need to watch Heartstopper. I read the first two volumes years ago and really liked them.
