Last week on FYFA (and in my life):
This week, I had fun making Halloween costumes with my older two kids. This is the first time we’ve gotten created and made our own costumes. My son is the Tardis (made with a cardboard box) and my daughter is Raining Cats & Dogs (dogs, cats, and blue beads hanging from her umbrella). My younger son is going to be the piggy from Angry Birds, but we didn’t make his costume, and I don’t have a picture of it yet.
In other news, I decided to do NaNoWriMo again this year! I feel like I’m better organized this time, so I’m hoping I can manage to write a full book this time. We shall see. I wrote a post introducing

Great Discussions/Goings On Around the Blogosphere:
Here are some posts I especially loved this week:
- S.J. Pajonas talks about Authorial Voice (just in time for NaNo!)
- Shannon over at It Starts at Midnight tells us Where to (Not) Find Inspiration
- Anna @ Star-Crossed Book Blog gives us this humorous take on 24 Hours In a European Blogger’s Life
And there’s been a lot of hullabaloo about the fact that BEA is cutting back on bloggers who will be allowed to attend. Not sure how it’s going to work. Lots of people are sad since it’s such a great place to meet other bloggers!
So, who wants to go to the RT Convention with me this year?

Your kid’s costumes are so creative! I’m so bad with Halloween costumes – I always leave it too late, can’t think of anything and so just end up going as a witch!
This is the first time we’ve tried to do anything creative. I’m really happy with how they turned out!
I love the creative costumes. I hope your kids have a great Halloween!
Thanks! We had tons of fun making them!
The TARDIS costume is so awesome! 😀
I figured that one would be appreciated around here! 🙂
Oh, I didn’t know they were cutting back on bloggers for BEA! That’s a bit sad, because it’s a great place to find new books. I came across SO many books this year that I wouldn’t have known about or given much thought to if not for BEA.
I love your kid’s costumes! So cute, and the raining cats and dogs is really clever.

Ha! Love the costumes!! It’s funny! I think my sister was considering a “Raining Cats and Dogs” costume too! Not sure if she’ll do it though! LOL! Love it though!
Nice new reads! Totally new to me ones! Hope you enjoy them both!!
Here’s my STS
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂

Ha! I love the raining cats & dogs costume! That’s great! And I’m excited for you to do NaNoWriMo! Just remember that if you get stuck, you can always change things at revisions time.
The costumes are fabulous and I just visited your NaNoWriMo book and I loved it. What a fun thing the be part of. Good luck 🙂
Those costumes are beyond amazing, I love them so much! It blows my mind that you were able to make those (I don’t have the skills to do that!), wow!
And thank you for sharing Anna’s post about 24 Hours In a European Blogger’s Life. The way she thinks always cracks me up, this is definitely my favorite post she has written so far! 🙂
So creative! The kids look great in their costumes! Good luck with Nano!
