The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news ~ A post to recap the past week on my blog and share news about what’s coming up in the week ahead.
What’s been happening since my last Sunday Post:
Danielle’s back at school! Of course I’m sad to see her go (again – she was only home for a few weeks after Spain), but I know she’s excited for the new school year! Noah started back up at school as well. He’s in a transition program after high school. And Jade starts her one final class on Monday. Both of them will still be home with us, so it’s not like we’ll be empty nesters. 🙂
Visit from my father-in-law. My FIL came out this way for a wood carving class that he does every year, so he stayed with us for a few days. It was nice to see him again, since he’s out in Tucson.
What I Read:
- I read The Puppets of Spelhorst by Kate DiCamillo, illustrated by Julie Morstad. I absolutely adore this lovely fairy tale! It’s coming out in October, so keep your eye out for it!
- I started reading Skandar and the Phantom Rider by A.F. Steadman. Very intrigued by this sequel so far!
- I listened to The Golden Frog Games by Claribel A. Ortega. I think I liked this sequel even better than the first book!
- Then I listened to The Inheritance Games by Jennifer Lynn Barnes. This is a fun mystery with a whole bunch of puzzles to figure out along the way!
What I Watched:
- We watched the final episode of season 2 of The Summer I Turned Pretty. It went pretty much exactly how I expected it to – but not how I wanted it to. I’ll still be curious about season 3, though.
- We watched one more episode of One of Us Is Lying. And I actually did try that little experiment of reading the book along with watching the show. It’s hard because it’s not a 1:1 progression, but I’m at 25% of the book now, so that should put me about even? It’s definitely interesting to watch and read this way!
- Then I randomly binge-watched two seasons of Survivor. This show is too addictive. It’s the kind of show I can just have on in the background and keep watching… and watching… and watching.
Here’s what you may have missed on the blog since my last Sunday Post:
NEW Pre-order Campaigns
Head over to my Pre-Order Campaigns Page to see ALL of the pre-order deals, including pictures!!
I recently realized that Barnes & Noble has a page on its site listing their own BARNES & NOBLE PREORDER SWEEPSTAKES. There are almost 50 books currently on this list, and it gets updated all the time. Pre-ordering any of these books from B&N will enter you to win special prizes! If any of the books have regular pre-order campaigns too, you can still enter those as well, of course.
Here’s a list of the pre-order campaigns I added to the list this week:
Pre-order CLEAT CUTE by Meryl Wilsner to receive an adorable sticker and signed bookplate, plus a chance to win CLEAT CUTE socks! (Ends 9/18) CLICK FOR DETAILS
Pre-order MINDBREAKER by Kate Dylan to receive character art, a bookplate, and a bookmark! (US/UK only) (Ends 9/12) CLICK FOR DETAILS
Lots of good stuff! Have any news? Feel free to share in the comments!
So, Jade only has one more class and then graduates? That was fast. I loved The Inheritance Games and am happy we are getting a spin off. It’s been a long time since I watched Survivor, but I was into it back in the day.
Yeah, she actually would have been done last year if she hadn’t had to pull out that one semester. She had a LOT of credits going into school because she basically did most of high school at the local community college. She was going to try to finish all the classes she pulled out of on her own, but it was just too hard to do such a high level math class with missing so many lectures.
Aw back to school, new people, new routines. It’s exciting but can be exhausting. I hope everything goes well.
Anne – Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
I’m ready for the new season of Survivor to start! I feel like you again about The Summer I Turned Pretty. I normally never try to find out what happens in a book/show, I like to be surprised as it goes along. But I did go find out who Belly ends up with in TSITP. So will be interesting to see how the show plays it out! Hope you have a good week!
It’s definitely back to school time! Hope everyone’s first days are going/went well! Glad you had a pretty quiet week from the sounds of it! Hope you enjoy your week ahead!
Here’s my StS
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂
The Inheritance Games looks really fun! I want to pick that one up.
I hope this next year is great for all your kids! <3
Good luck to the kids! I’m also addicted to Survivor. I’ve been watching it since the first season.
