Make Me Read It Readathon Sign up and Poll

Make Me Read It Readathon Sign up and Poll

Challenges 34

I just found the Make Me Read It Readathon and got all excited. It’s hosted by Val @ The Innocent Smiley and Ely @ Of Wonderland. My monthly Make Me Read It Giveaway has been really successful for getting me to read some books I’ve been meaning to get to for a long time, and I thought why not push it even a little further and do this readathon? What Is This Readathon About? Look at the books you own, either physical, e-book or ones you’ve borrowed from the library and pick out a few you really want to read, or feel like you should read. It’s up to you how many you pick, personally I’d pick a few more than you expect to be able to read in a week. Example: if you think you’ll only read two, pick out five books or if you think you can read seven, pick out ten…. Read more »

My Writing & Reading Goals for 2018

My Writing & Reading Goals for 2018

Challenges, Let's Discuss 59

I’m a little late with this, but I wanted to get my 2018 blogging, reading and writing goals written out so that I can (hopefully) track them. Otherwise, I’ll whisper them to myself and then pretend they don’t exist! Writing Goals Complete a second edit of Meet You in Convinerimus (the current working title of my middle grade book) and submit it to at least ten agents. I can’t get published if I don’t submit the book! I have gotten some excellent feedback, and I’m working on an edit based on that—I need to kick it into high gear! Attend a writing workshop. I really want to attend a workshop or craft-intensive conference this year. I’ll probably do that instead of attending ALA/BEA. Read more writing craft books/materials. Again, I need to work on my writing skills if I want to succeed. I’m giving myself a challenge of reading four craft books… Read more »

2018 Reading Challenge Sign-Ups and Wrap-Up of My 2017 Challenges

2018 Reading Challenge Sign-Ups and Wrap-Up of My 2017 Challenges

Challenges 17

I decided to combine my sign-ups for my 2018 challenges with my wrap-up for 2017. Kind of fun to see these side-by-side and analyze last year while looking forward to the year ahead! My 2018 Reading/Blogging Challenges: Goal: 31-40 Discussions (Terrifically Talkative)  Of course I’m participating in this challenge since I’m hosting it! The goal of this challenge is to post book-related discussions (or getting to know you type discussions work too.) This challenge is one of my favorite aspects of blogging, and I’m excited to be continuing it! I did reduce my goal a bit for next year, since I didn’t meet the goal last year and I plan to be a busy bee in 2018. HOST/SIGN-UP LINK – Feed Your Fiction Addiction & It Starts at Midnight Goal: 365 Blogs Commented On This is going to be really tough, but I want to try the Commenting 365 Challenge this year. Looking for a List of 2018 Reading/Book Blogging Challenges? Look No Further!

Challenges 86

For the last few years I’ve posted a comprehensive list of all the book blogging and reading challenges I’ve found. It seems like it’s been a useful resource, so I figured I’d do it again this year! This is a list of everything I’ve found so far, but I’ll be adding to it—feel free to let me know in the comments if you know of another challenge and I’ll add it to the list. If you’re looking for some advice on how to wisely choose the challenges you want to participate in (and how to get yourself organized), check out my post: How to Keep Yourself Motivated and Organized for Reading Challenges. And Julie over at Chapter Break wrote this great post on How to Embed a Goodreads Shelf into a Blog Post! And if you’re considering hosting a challenge yourself, you might want to check out my guest post over at… Read more »

2018 Book Blog Discussion Challenge Sign-Up

Book Blog Discussion Challenge, Challenges 79

Welcome to the 2018 Book Blog Discussion Challenge hosted by Nicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction and Shannon @ It Starts at Midnight! We came up with this challenge because we wanted to encourage our fellow book bloggers to not only read more (since there are already lots of challenges for that), but talk more too! Well, it’s been SO successful these last three years that we decided to bring it back! So often, we book bloggers mean to post more discussions on our blogs, but we just don’t quite get around to it. Well, we wanted to give everyone a little motivation to keep the discussions going, plus give us a place to link up our discussions so that more people will see our precious words of wisdom (or … you know … our GIF-filled rants). I hope you’ll join us for this challenge and pledge yourself to posting… Read more »

Book Blog Discussion Challenge, Challenges, Giveaways (Ended) 2

Welcome to the September monthly link-up for the 2017 Book Blog Discussion Challenge hosted by Nicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction and Shannon @ It Starts at Midnight! Hi, everyone! It’s September! Here in the US, that means back to school time, which means many of us are getting a whole lot busier. September is also a month that’s always PACKED with new book releases, so at least we have that for a little added cheer to our month.  🙂 The winner of our July discussion challenge link-up was Angela from Angel’s Guilty Pleasures. She won a book set in any country except the US, so she chose Moonshadow by Thea Harrison, in which the main character travels to the UK to search for answers about her childhood. Sounds intriguing! If you don’t know what this challenge is all about or haven’t signed up yet (but want to), head on over to the challenge sign-up page to learn… Read more »

I’ve decided to join in on two challenges this summer. The first is the Can You Read a Series in a Month? Today is the last day to sign up and since I’ve only got half the month to go, that’s probably a good thing! The Rules Pick 1 series. Yes, just 1. Announce which series you’ve picked on your sign up post. Read EVERY book in the series. You don’t have to read novellas or short stories, just the core books. Read them all between 12am (your time) June 1st and 11:59pm (your time) June 30th. They MUST be marked (on Goodreads) as started and finished in the month of June to count.
