Last week on FYFA (and in my life):
This week was the last week of our semester for our homeschool co-op, so we spent lots of time with final projects and performances. My musical theater class did a fantastic job with their show, and the night was a great success! Then, I helped my daughter work on her final project for her botany class. She had to find and catalogue seventy-five different plants – she’s been working on finding them all semester, but the identification and cataloguing has proven to be VERY difficult and time-consuming! But she’s loving the project and she’s done a fantastic job with it, so that’s okay.
Other than that, I’ve also started working on hospitality for my daughter’s big gymnastics meet in February – yes, you read that right. I somehow got roped into the whole thing again, even though last year was such a frustrating disaster. Feel free to just call me doormat – I’m horrible at saying no. (Actually, I’m good at saying no, but somehow they always get twisted into yeses – I honestly don’t get it.)
Here on the blog, I’m planning to put together a list of 2016 reading/book blogging challenges to go up next week. If you’re hosting one (or even just know of one), let me know in the comments and I’ll be sure to include it!

Looks like you had a busy week! Congrats on your haul, I love the cover for Burning Glass, WOW! I hope you had a great weekend and have a wonderful week 🙂
Burning Glass looks so good. I see that your week was very busy.
Grace @ Books of Love
Busy busy!! I am excited to see the round up of challenges. There are so many and I am not sure what I want to commit to. Enjoy your new book and have a great week!
I wish I can be active with volunteer work at both my kids’ schools. Earlier in November, I thought that being out of work would finally let me do that, but then we realize we really can’t afford for me to be a stay at home mom, so I found a job and started working again. I commend mothers who can do both!
Burning Glass showed up on a barrage of WoW last week! I sure hope you’ll enjoy it. 😀
Ooh, thank you for including me in this roundup! AHHH all the reading challenges are flooding in right now, eh!? I’m trying to decide if I’m going to join up to any. XD
Ahhh… hate it when that No turns to a Yes… good luck with it though!
Burning Glass looks good!
Glad all the end of year performances and projects are going well. Oh goodness, sorry you got roped into hospitality again. I hope it goes much better this time!
I’m doing my Unique Formatting Challenge. I just need to get the sign up post up – should be up soon!
Good luck with your daughter’s gymnastic meet, and you’re not a doormat, just a good mom!!
I actually started my own Challenge and its definitely not like the others, I thought it would be a nice easy one, HAHAHA, anyway I hope you will check it out. And excuse all the linkys I couldn’t figure out how to remove them all!!(Still learning-lol) I also did November wrap up.
Oh no! I was hoping you wouldn’t get roped into that one again. 🙁 Next year, fake an injury! Lol.
I cannot wait for The Burning Glass as well, I think it sounds fantastic.
I still need to read Snow Like Ashes, it really bothers me to know that I purposely purchased and its been sitting on my bookshelf for months! I’m not sure if you are aware, but I’m co-hosting a dystopia reading challenge with Tracy from Cornerfolds 🙂
Oh NO! I remember you pulling your hair out last year. Sorry to hear that you are stuck doing it again. I am really looking forward to your List of 2016 Reading and Book Blogging Challenges. I hope you have a good week!
Thanks so much for mentioning my post! 🙂
Oh gosh, I remember when I had to catalogue plants for Biology. 😀 As usually, I left it to the last day and then had to drag my mum around to look for plants with me. Luckily, we lived near a university park with lots of diverse plants. Glad your musical theater class did so well! I hope you have a great week. 🙂
