Top Ten Books on My Fall TBR
For this, I’m using books that are releasing this fall, even though I’ll probably be reading some backlist books as well.
(I’m listing this in order of release date.)
1. Storm Runner by J.C. Cervantes
This one releases today! I loved the first book from this imprint, so I’m ready to jump into this one!!!
2. Wildcard by Marie Lu
I finally read (technically, listened to) a Marie Lu book!! And I really liked it! So, since I recently read Warcross, it makes sense that I should jump into Wildcard very soon. (This one came out today, too.)
3. Dry by Neal Shusterman
Do you see Neal Shusterman’s name on the book? That is all the explanation you need.
4. Grim Lovelies by Megan Shepherd
I’ll confess that the fact that I got a gorgeous book box from the publisher may have amped up my excitement for this book—I mean, who doesn’t love surprise book mail? But any book with an MC from a race of non-humans called Beasties is right up my alley.
5. Shadow of the Fox by Julie Kagawa
I’m actually reading this one right now. Julie Kagawa can do no wrong in my eyes.
6. Dear Evan Hansen by Val Emmich
If you’ve been around my blog at all lately, you know I keep raving about this musical. So the fact that they made it into a book … automatic Must-Read!
7. What if It’s Us? by Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera
Adam Silvera is such a wonderful human being that I will pretty much read anything he writes from here to eternity. The fact that Becky co-wrote this is a super-cool bonus!
8. The Darkest Star by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Who’s ready to jump into the Lux universe again? I know I am!
9. Umbertouched by Livia Blackburn
I was a HUGE fan of Rosemarked, so I can’t wait to read this next book!
10. The Lying Woods by Ashley Elston
Just the title inspires intrigue, right? I’m ready for a little mystery in my (reading) life!
What fall books are you looking forward to? I want to know!
NEAL SHUSTERMAN!!! *zips over to Amazon*
A woman after my own heart. 🙂
I thought about putting Dry on my list! I don’t know if I’ll have the time to download and read the ARC just because I’m a little behind on review copies, though. I actually have never read a Neal Shusterman book though, so hopefully this year will change that!
Oh, you have no idea what you’re missing. Unwind is my favorite series of all time, without a doubt.
What If It’s Us is undoubtedly one of my most anticipated books of the year. I mean, Adam Silvera is amazing, and the book itself sounds charming and emotional aka a dream combination.
Adam Silvera is an auto-buy author for me, and I don’t have many of those.
What If It’s Us and The Lying Wood are two in excited for as well. Hope you get to and enjoy all of these!
I’m guessing What If It’s Us will be on a lot of lists today. 🙂
Wildcard is a must read for me! Shadow of the Fox is also high on my list as a fan of Julie Kagawa.
It took me so long to read a Marie Lu book—I can’t let the momentum slide now! 🙂
I’m SO excited to jump back into the Lux universe and I’m starting The Darkest Star next! I can’t wait to catch up with Luc when he’s older. Hope we both love! ♥
Yes, I can’t wait to see what Armentrout has in store for us!
I hope you are loving Shadow of the Fox. I am eager to read it myself! I haven’t listened to Warcross yet, but I had gone ahead and pre-ordered Wildcard anyway. I see it arrived today. Yay! I hope you enjoy all of the books on your list and the other books you read too!
Hope you love both Warcross and Wildcard. It’s nice to read a duology now and again.
Nice!! Super excited for Wildcard but I know my schedule won’t be allowing me to read it anytime soon! Maybe winter if I am lucky! Lol!
Here’s my Tuesday Post
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂
Oh, I can relate. Lately I feel like it’s impossible to fit everything in that I want to!!
While I know most of these authors, I’m must have my head under a rock…I don’t know any of the titles! I hope you enjoy them though, Nicole! 🙂
If you don’t read a lot of YA, you might not know these, but most of us YA bloggers have definitely seen a lot of them around. 🙂
Wildcard and The Shadow of the Fox are two I really hope to get to this fall too. Warcross just left me in such a state, and I love all that is Kagawa.
I can’t believe it took me so long to read a Marie Lu book, but I really loved Warcross!
Grim Lovelies looks awesome! Warcross has been on my Kindle for a while, and I really need to get around to finally reading it!
I’ve heard great things about Grim Lovelies, and I loved Warcross!
Why have I not read Dry yet!? NO IDEA I NEED TO. Also, What If It’s Us is really cute, I hope you like it- I think you will at least enjoy it cause it’s adorable. Grim Lovelies was pretty decent too I thought. I also really want to read Wildcard, Umbertouched, and The Lying Woods. Hope you love these (especially because it probably means I will too ?)
I can handle a little adorableness. Sometimes that’s just what I need between angsty books. 🙂
YEAH for Shusterman. That’s on my list too, of course. The Lying Woods has a great cover and sounds captivating. And I am pretty sure now that I need to get The Storm Runner for my classroom. Also, I am pretty sure What If It’s Us appears on 90% of the lists today. We all love Adam and Becky!
Yeah, I think you’re right about What If It’s Us. It’s everywhere! I highly recommend Storm Runner for your classroom—I just posted my review today, and I think it has a lot of great elements that we don’t see a lot.
I am looking forward What If It’s Us because it seems to be on everyone’s list. Althouhg I am new to Adam Silvera, I heard only good things about his books!
I just love him—-not only is he an author, but he’s always so genuine when you see him at events.
I need to read Dry and What If It’s Us, too. Since I rarely get new releases, I’ll probably read them 2 years from now. I hope you love all these!
I’m sure a few of these will still be on my TBR two years from now. No matter how hard I try to keep up, some books seem to fall through the cracks.
I loooooved Wildcard! I can’t wait to see your thoughts on all of these books. I’m excited for the Dear Evan Hansen novel ^_^
Thanks for sharing,

I’m super excited about the Dear Evan Hansen tour!!
I’m so excited about What If It’s Us!! I just adore Adam and his books, and Becky is fab too, so it’s a cool duo. 🙂 I read an ARC of Dear Evan Hansen and it was SO GOOD. I really hope you love it!
-Lauren
I have the ARC of Dear Evan Hansen—I need to read it VERY soon. I can’t wait for the tour in October!!!!
Fantastic list Nicole!!! The Darkest Star is on my list too 😉
I think lots of us are waiting for that one!
I am *so* ready to return to the Lux world. I love that series. I’m actually reading What If It’s Us right now. Never very far into it but totally loving it so far. 🙂
I can’t wait to see what Armentrout has in store for us. And I always love Adam Silvera!!
I’m interested in all of these as well, especially Wildcard and What If It’s Us.
So many good books coming out this fall, right?
I can’t wait to start reading Dear Evan Hansen. What If It’s Us also sounds great. Enjoy all of these!
Me too! I’m going to a Dear Evan Hansen event where they’re featuring the book AND playing some of the songs from the musical. I couldn’t be more excited!!
Wildcard- yay! I’ve been so looking forward to that one and now that it’s out I have like three books I want to read ahead of it *sigh*. But I am hoping it’s awesome!
Oh, I know. I feel like that’s my constant state lately. So many books to read!
Oh I can attest that What If It’s Us and Grim Lovelies are AMAZING, but particularly the latter ahhhh. It was so magical and also set in Paris (which I should’ve known due to the Eiffel Tower on the front but I didn’t notice?) and definitely a loved fantasy of the year. I really want to read Shadow Of the Fox too!!
If it makes you feel any better, I hadn’t really thought about the Eiffel Tower being on the front either. Even though it’s REALLY obvious. Oops!
Oh, I see you did read Warcross :-).
I reread Warcross last week. It was nice to go (almost) straight from one to the other. I think about half of my Fall TBR is older books (although some of these “older” books were released this summer).
I’m glad that I’ll be reading them close together so I don’t have to worry about forgetting things.
Very curious to hear people’s thoughts on Storm Runner. I hope you’ll love these all.
I just posted my review yesterday. Really enjoyed it!!
I will also ~hopefully~ read Wildcard soon! I can’t wait for my package to arrive from the US asdfghjkl!!! Also you must read Marie Lu’s other books. She’s a writing goddess. Shadow of the Fox is also on my TBR–I adore Julie Kagawa as well!!
Hope you get it soon!!
I was planning to do one of these, but never got around to it. Even though I have so many to read. A few of these are on my list. ARCs I got from ALA. I do really want to read Dry too.
Most of these are either sequels or review books. Except Dry. That’s just pure Shusterman love. 🙂
What if it’s us is on my TBR. Others are all new to me. I love this week’s TTT but it has added so many more books to my TBR already.
Oh, I know. These posts are dangerous, right?
I have only a couple of this on my TBR so adding all the others of course! They all sound great! Especially The Lying Woods!
Ha! These types of posts are terrible for the TBR.
