This past week on FYFA (and in my life):
Um, apparently was busy this week? I honestly don’t know where it went, but I only got one post up and I only managed one day of serious writing. I was also doing some (more) editing of my MG, but somehow I felt like the week mostly slipped away from me. I need to get back to my checklist!
The beginning of the week was crazy with 80+ degree temps and then it shot down to the 40s. Chicago weather is insane! I helped my husband haul debris from our backyard to our dumpster on Monday—so I guess that explains one of my days of busyness. Oh, and my younger daughter had a half day of school on Wednesday, so that day was messed up, schedule-wise. Okay, I guess I don’t feel as bad about not getting a lot done … still, I need to get working.
One other thing I DO know I did this week: I went to the Dear Evan Hansen novel event with my mom, which was a mixture of an author event and a concert. It was awesome! I plan to write a recap next week.
Here’s what you may have missed on the blog since my last Sunday Post:

Purchased:
I got Sawkill Girls and Lady’s Guide to Petticoats and Piracy from the bookstore that did the Epic Reads Tour, since they didn’t have them in time for the tour. But I’m too lazy to take pics this morning, so maybe I’ll post a pic later.
I also got my signed copy of Dear Evan Hansen from the event on Friday. (Which I’m reading now.)

Lots of good stuff! Have any giveaways or great discussions happening on your site right now? Feel free to share them in the comments!
That event sounds cool, and it’s nice that your mom likes going to bookish stuff with you. We had one nice day last week. Now it’s snowing again. I hope you have a good week!
Those weeks are just no fun! I hope you’ll be less busy next week – and that you know what you filled the week with 🙂
There’s no such thing as “less busy” I’ve decided. It’s just a myth we all use to fool ourselves. 🙂
Oh the Dea Evan Hanson event sounds good! Hope next week is less busy. Have a great one 🙂
ooh, omg thanks for linking up my math lesson posts, Nicole! and wowow I am so going to have to check back for those preorder incentives because UGH, WANT. this is such a great resource, thank you for doing this!
(also, v jealous about DEH! I hope you’re loving it so far!)
I really enjoyed those math posts, so I’m very happy to share. And I’m glad the pre-orders incentives are helpful. There are so many of them!!
Sounds like you did some fun stuff. I love book events, and you got books and concert. Nice. My daughter was lamenting about the Chicago weather, but NJ was in a similar state.
She’ll have to get used to crazy Chicago weather—it’s pretty much the standard around here. 🙂
I feel like time is always getting away from me these days! Yay for getting a day of writing in, right? That’s always productive!
Lindsi @ Do You Dog-ear?
Yeah, I’ve sort of given up on staying on top of everything these days. I’m doing my best, but it’s pretty much an impossible task!
Some weeks just go by in a blur. Our weather was similar here too. Very warm and then we got our first taste of fall on Thursday. The sun is still hot but the humidity is gone and the nights are cooler. Loving it!
I’m sure you’re happy for a little break from the heat. I’m not looking forward to Chicago winter, though, and I can already feel it coming…
After being in the 80s, We are freezing here too! Good luck editing your MG! I love how much fun you are having with your mom 🙂
It’s so nice to have my mom around more now that she’s retired.
The weather is always crazy where I live too, but I’m happy it’s cooled down some. It made the weekend more enjoyable since I was outside a lot. I can’t wait to hear about your Dear Evan Hansen event.
Glad you’ve been enjoying the cooler weather. 🙂
Your week sounds a lot like mine in that it went by really quick, and I was left at the end thinking, “Huh? What happened to this week?” And now it’s Monday again. Sigh. Everything is just speeding right on by.
Yeah, I feel like that a lot. Unless I’m VERY intentional about my time, it seems to float away. I’m getting better about being intentional about it, but organization isn’t my strong point.
Oh, that event sounds cool!
My week was insane fast too.
Seems like every week is that way for me lately!
OH our weather has been the same. We’ve been getting down into the 20’s, although this week we even got down into the teens at night ACK! But then during the day we’re in the 70/80s. That’s typical fall weather for us but I always forget what a huge temperature swing we get during this time of the year lol! I have to say that I’m enjoying all the heat I can get before we get more than just a dusting of snow at night. =D
Yes, I swear every year the weather plays the same tricks on us, yet we’re still somehow surprised. 😉
