This past week on FYFA (and in my life):
I left for the New York SCBWI Conference on Friday! Hopefully I’m having a fabulous time there right now!! 🙂

Many years ago, I was in a full-scale musical at my church that was written by Aaron Reynolds and his wife (they were in it too—they’re both lovely people). It was incredibly impressive, so it was no surprise to me when I found out that Aaron wrote a children’s book (and then many more!). When I saw that he’s written a chapter book, I was incredibly excited to request it for review!!! Just the title convinces me I’m going to love it: The Incredibly Dead Pets of Rex Dexter. Thank you, Disney-Hyperion for granting my request!

The Reynolds book looks fun!
I haven’t written a wrap-up of this conference yet, and I’ve sort of been on the fence about whether or not I had enough to say about it. I enjoyed it, but it was almost more about connecting with people for me than it was about the conference itself.
