The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news ~ A post to recap the past week on my blog and share news about what’s coming up in the week ahead.
This past week on FYFA (and in my life):
Quick trip to Tucson: My husband and I are in Tucson right now, visiting his mom, who’s in a memory care facility there. It’s been a nice visit, but it can definitely be tough to see someone you love struggling so much to understand the basics of what’s going on around her. Still, it seemed like she really brightened up with us there, so that was nice.
Since I’m in Tucson, this is going to be an abridged Sunday Post. (Sorry, I don’t have time to go searching for giveaways or pre-order campaigns, but I do have a couple of new pre-order campaigns that the authors contacted me about!)
- What I Read:
- I’m still reading a MG manuscript from my critique partner Ari.
- I read Rea and the Blood of the Nectar and will post my review and the author’s top ten addictions list next week! Then I started reading The Verdigris Pawn.
- I listened to Phoebe and Her Unicorn in the Magic Storm (watch for my review coming soon!) and then started listening to The Last Fallen Star.
- TV We Watched:
- Supernatural. We watched almost all of season 12 this week!
Here’s what you may have missed on the blog since my last Sunday Post:
- Glow by Ruth Forman & Illustrated by Geneva Bowers – I featured this book for Juneteenth!

How nice that you got to spend some time with your MIL. That’s wonderful that she perked up with your visit. Safe travels!
Good that you got to listen to audio. hope that your week is fab and you get outdoors while in tucson. I haven’t been there myself but I’ve heard its fab.
I’ve been to Tucson and it was HOT. We loved the Desert museum and I liked trying different foods / restaurants. Enjoy your trip.
Anne – Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
Several of my grandparents had memory problems and ended up in memory care homes. It is awful to watch them struggle. I hope you’re able to have some fun in Tucson. Have a great week!
Have a good trip. I’m sure it is hard to see someone going through that.
I’m sorry about your mother-in-law, but that’s nice that she seemed to enjoy having you there to visit! I never did finish Supernatural ?
I’m glad your mother-in-law seemed to perk up during your visit. I hope all is going well!
Thanks for sharing my giveaways, especially the one on Twitter!
Have a lovely trip!!
I hope you had a nice visit! It can be hard to see those we love ailing, but I’m just so glad that so many people are able to have those visits again now.
Memory care is tough. My dad had Parkinson’s and had to move to memory care but I’m sure the visit really brightened her days.
Hope you are having a nice trip even though it’s HOT lol

I’m so glad that you were able to visit your mother-in-law, hugs! Here’s wishing you safe travels ♥.
Glad you are having a nice visit, but that must be so incredibly hard, especially for your husband. Sending you both (and his mom!) my love. Hope you are having a nice time in the city, too.
It’s hard seeing someone you love struggling. I’m glad your MIL seemed to brighten up with your visit. I hope you have a good time in Tucson.
The Last Fallen Star is on my TBR. I look forwarding to reading your thoughts on it.
