The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news ~ A post to recap the past week on my blog and share news about what’s coming up in the week ahead.
This past week on FYFA (and in my life):
- Sick kiddo (and pup). So, last week Danielle was sick, but she was seeming better by Sunday … until her ear started to hurt that night. Yep, she had an ear infection to go along with her cold and her pink eye. Poor kid! She had to miss one more swim practice Monday morning, but then she was able to go back after school. It’s really thrown a wrench into the end of her final swim season, though. And then Digit got neutered, so I had to keep an extra eye on him this week.
- Danielle’s final high school swim meet. Danielle swam in her very last high school meet yesterday, their Conference meet. It was very exciting—their team won after the coach strategically changed their relay teams around for the final race. They sacrificed getting a first place relay for getting both second and third, which won them the meet. We were worried Danielle wasn’t going to get best times because she still hasn’t completely recovered from her cold (and hasn’t built her strength back up after missing a week of practices), but she did manage a PR in a couple of her races and was only off the other one by a tenth of a second. And since she was part of one of the relay teams that won them the meet (and got her best time in that race), it was a fitting end to her high school swim journey!
- Writing. I’m considering jumping into NaNoWriMo, but not starting with a new project. We’ll see…
- What I Read:
- I read The Lost Language by Claudia Mills, Daughter of the Deep by Rick Riordan, Chlorine Sky by Mahogany L. Browne, and Me (Moth) by Amber McBride.
- I continued listening to The Only Plane in the Sky: An Oral History of September 11, 2001 by Garrett M. Graff.

Awe, poor Danielle. I am happy to hear she was able to compete in the final meet though and a PR too. Look at that! Hope Digit is healing well. I don’t think we ever had a male dog. Do their temperaments change when they are neutered?
I’ll have to let you know about his temperament. So far I haven’t noticed that much of a change, but it’s only been a week, so we’ll see!
What a busy week! I’m so glad Danielle was able to participate and do well in the meet.

Thanks!
Thanks for the blog anniversary shout-out! 🙂 <3
You’re welcome! Happy blogoversary!
Sorry to hear about the cold, ear infection. My grandson brought a cold home last week but thankfully I didn’t get it.
We were actually shocked that none of the rest of us got sick. Thank goodness!
Glad Danielle is doing better! And yay for her doing well at the last swim meet! That’s awesome!
And yay for not adding to the TBR pile! Lol!
Here’s my StS
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂
I know, right? Sometimes I just have to cheer not adding any books to my TBR. 🙂
Dang, your poor daughter. She just got hit hard! I’m curious to see if you like Squid Game after finishing it. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the ending.
Yeah, I felt so bad for her – it was just one thing after another. I’ll let you know how I like the ending for Squid Game. I have a feeling it’s going to take me a while to get through it since I have to be really paying attention to the TV while I watch because of the subtitles. I’m used to mindless TV that I can have on while I blog/comment. 🙂
Sounds like it was a busy month. Enjoy November, with good reads I hope
Thanks! I’m hoping November will be a good month as well!
Never a moment of peace for your daughter! At least she was able to shine in her swim meet, no matter what.
I hope Digit recovered nicely!
Yes, thanks, Digit is doing well. He actually perked up really quickly – much quicker than I was expecting!
I was sick at one point in October, and my sister was sick about a week ago. Not fun! I hope that Danielle is starting to feel better. I’m not officially doing NaNo, because no way I can hit 50k but I am thinking about working on a novel or something…we’ll see. I’m up and down on what I have motivation for these days.
Yeah, I think I’ve decided not to actually move ahead officially with NaNo because I should be getting feedback from my critique partners soon and I want to focus on finishing up my current WIP and sending it to my agent.
We just finished Squid Game this week. It was really good all the way to the end. And I’m sorry to hear about all the sickness! Hopefully everyone feels better soon.
My only problem with watching Squid Game is that I actually have to pay attention to it. I can’t just sit and blog or comment while it’s playing because I have to read the subtitles. So I haven’t gotten very far, but I’m liking it so far!
I don’t do anything else while watching tv anymore. I used to multitask while watching and found that I never really remembered what happens in the show. I decided to stop a few years ago and now I retain so much more!
Yeah, that’s why I watch so much mindless TV – I can half-watch The Amazing Race with no problem and not feel like I’m missing much, but that doesn’t work as well with shows that you actually need to follow for plot.
Yay for Danielle’s team doing so well and winning the meet, that’s so exciting! And here’s hoping November has been kinder to her sickness wise, hugs!
Yes, it was nice that she was finally over all those illnesses.
