The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news ~ A post to recap the past week on my blog and share news about what’s coming up in the week ahead.
This past week on FYFA (and in my life):
- Jade’s home! My oldest came home for winter break on Thursday. She’ll be home a whole month!
- Writing. I got feedback from my first actual middle grade reader so that was exciting! And I’m still making good headway on my revisions. (Though I had to take a break these last couple of days for Cybils reading.)
- What I Read:
- For the Cybils, I read Everywhere Blue by Joanne Rossmassler Fritz; Muted by Tami Charles; Call Me Athena: Girl from Detroit by Colby Cedar Smith; Recipe for Disaster by Aimee Lucido; What About Will by Ellen Hopkins;
Growing Up Trans edited by Lindsay Herriot and Kate Fry; and Red, White, and Whole by Rajani LaRocca. - I’m still listening to Our Violent Ends by Chloe Gong.
- For the Cybils, I read Everywhere Blue by Joanne Rossmassler Fritz; Muted by Tami Charles; Call Me Athena: Girl from Detroit by Colby Cedar Smith; Recipe for Disaster by Aimee Lucido; What About Will by Ellen Hopkins;
- What I Watched:
- I finished watching the All-Stars seasons of The Amazing Race, so I’m now done watching everything I can watch for free. I’ll be waiting for the last couple seasons to make their way to Hulu.
- I watched Baking Impossible, a fun competition show that combines baking and engineering.

Lots of birthdays this week!
Take care and hope you’re having a nice holiday season…
It’s been really nice having my daughter home!
I really enjoyed Red, White, and Whole. I want to read Everywhere Blue soon.
Enjoy your timre with your daughter. It’s great that she’s staying a whole month. Thanks for including my giveaways.
I loved both Red, White and Whole and Everywhere Blue – lots of fabulous books in my Cybils reading this year. (Or, I guess it was now last year.)
I’m sure you’ll enjoy being with your daughter! The header on your blog is so whimsical! How exciting to be moving forward with your reader! Congratulations!
Oh, thank you! The header was created by an artist named Tabitha Jensen (AKA Pabkins) – you can check her out on Instagram! https://www.instagram.com/pabkins/
Enjoy your time with Jade! Good luck with your writing and Cybils reading.
Thanks!! This was definitely a busy end to 2021!
It must be neat but a little stressful to have other people reading your work. Isn’t it nice when the kids come home? So special.
It is a little stressful, but also a great feeling!
Yay for Jade being home!!
It’s been so nice to have her here!
Ohhh we LOVE Baking Impossible! We have only watched a few episodes, but we’re obsessed. And YAY for Jade being home, I’m so happy you have all of your kids home for the holidays ♥!
I thought it was such an entertaining show!!
