The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news ~ A post to recap the past week on my blog and share news about what’s coming up in the week ahead.
This past week on FYFA (and in my life):
Reminder – Enter my 8th blogoversary giveaway! And check out the new Pre-Order Campaign Page.
- The college search. I spent a lot of time this week helping my daughter look into colleges and summer programs that might help her get into a good school. She wants to go into Environmental Science (probably specializing in something field-related so she can be outdoors for her job). This year has been so weird, but she’s a junior, and we need to start figuring out where she wants to go!
- The S22i exercise bike. I’m happy to say that, so far, I’ve been good about using my exercise bike at least five times a week. (Granted, it’s only been two weeks. LOL!) I’m feeling great about it—so glad we got this bike!
- Blogging: So, as soon as I mentioned last week that I was doing great about sticking to a blogging schedule, I totally messed up. I did manage to eke out two posts, but they were crammed in at the end of the week. (And I wouldn’t have managed it if I hadn’t needed to put up the Monthly Wrap-Up Round-Up, which I probably would have forgotten all about if Shannon hadn’t reminded me!)
- What I Read:
- I continued reading Legendborn.
- I’ve been listening to Honor Lost by Rachel Caine and Ann Aguirre
- I also finished reading my friend Megan’s latest manuscript and sent her my notes for critique.
- TV We Watched:
- Supernatural. We’re still watching season 9 of Supernatural. (We haven’t had as much time to watch lately, obviously.)
- 24. We’re still on season 3 of 24, too.
- Shark Tank. I realized I’ve been forgetting this one, even though we’ve been watching it for awhile. My son Noah especially loves this one. He asks if we can watch it pretty much every day after school. We’re up to date on the current season, and we also watched all of season 8 (which was the last one on Hulu), and then we jumped all the way back to season 1. It was really funny to see how different the show was when it started out! The sharks were much meaner back then!
- Bella’s DNA test results: As always, my pups kept me busy! We started back up with our agility class after a one-week break. We also got the DNA test results back for Bella (I got the kit for my birthday). I thought, instead of just saying what they were, it might be fun to have people guess.
Identify this dog: Let me know in the comments what you think Bella’s mix might be. I’ll post the results next week!
Here’s what you may have missed on the blog since my last Sunday Post:

I hope you are enjoying Legendborn. I hope to read that one soon.
I just finished it last night and really loved it! Definitely recommend!
Exercise biking sounds great. We love biking in MN it seems. People will get those fat tire bikes. I even took a woman to the airport who plans on doing a trek in Arizona.
Ironically, I’m not that crazy about real-life biking. But I’m a fan of the exercise bike. 🙂
YAY for using your exercise bike! I love the one I have too and it’s nice to mix up that and walking outside. And wishing you guys all the luck for researching where your daughter wants to go to college, that’s such a huge decision, hugs!
The college search is definitely stressful, but it’s fun too!
Ummm… Golden retriever and english setter mix? I’m awful with dog breeds but that would be my guess. I can’t wait to see what breeds she is.
I’m honestly pretty bad about dog breeds too, but I did have a hunch with Bella that ended up being correct. (If it makes you feel better about your perceived lack of breed-identifying abilities, though, every vet and/or pet professional who told us what they think Bella is was wrong. LOL!) I’ll “reveal” the results next week. (cue drumroll) 🙂
Good luck with the college search. It must be a bit different these days. I remember driving all over the place. I only ever had mutts, so I have no clue what kind of dog Bella is, but that picture of the two together is adorable. And good for you being consistent with your exercise!
I’ve always had mutts too (except Digit), but we’ve always found ourselves wondering about their breeds. So it was fun to actually find out the answers for once. I think we’ll do it with Snickers too.
Does Bella have some Catahoula in her?
Well, she definitely got her merle gene (the spots) from somewhere…
I’m going to guess that Bella is part Australian Shephard.
When we got Bella, we were told she was an Australian Shepherd mix. Were they right? We’ll find out next week. 🙂
Wow. Sounds like really busy times! I would think Bella maybe has Australian Shepherd in her too! She has that look.
Yay for not adding to the TBR pile! Especially since it sounds like you’re still super busy!
Here’s my StS
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂
Everyone called Bella an Australian Shepherd mix when we got her. Next week, we’ll see if they were right!
Good luck to your daughter! Environmental science sounds fascinating. And cute pics of Bella! I don’t know what to guess haha but looking forward to the answer. 🙂
Danielle loves the outdoors and biology, so environmental science seems like a perfect fit for her!
Oh man, I need to get back into exercising. I’ve been thinking about getting the Ring Fit for the Switch… it looks like fun! Plus it probably wouldn’t feel like exercise… but idk yet ?
I hope you have a great week!
My oldest does Ring Fit sometimes, and she really likes it!
These weeks are like that. You start out doing one thing and end up with totally something else. I’m obviously bad about guessing breeds; what we thought Lulu was she didn’t have any of any kind of terrier in her breeds. But I’ll give it a shot with some kind of setter but which kind I have no idea. Can’t wait to see the results next week.
Anne – Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
I loved seeing your pup’s reveal on your blog, so I thought I’d do something fun like that too! 🙂
Bella is beautiful. I’m so bad with breeds though, so I have no idea! LOL Good luck in the college hunt. I hope you can find the perfect place!!!
-Lauren
Haha! Well, you don’t have to guess then—you can just wait for next week’s reveal. 🙂
Good luck to your daughter! I thought about going back to school for Environmental Science, but I already wasted 11 years in college, and the thought of going back makes me nauseous. I’d guess Bella is an Australian Shephard. And maybe a Lab or Golden Retriever? All I know is that she’s adorable.
She definitely has the adorable gene!!!
Oh, I’m horrible with identifying dog breeds so I’m not even going to guess. She has an adorable face though! Glad you are loving the bike!
Environmental Science sounds like the way to go for the future. Good luck for your daughter!
Thank you so much for the blogiversary wishes!
