Sunday Post header

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news ~ A post to recap the past week on my blog and share news about what’s coming up in the week ahead.

This past week on FYFA (and in my life):

  • I’m late this week because we went to downtown Chicago yesterday to celebrate my husband’s birthday and as a last outing before Danielle leaves for Purdue. We went to a fancy food court in Fulton Market and tried a ton of different foods, and then we did a prison-themed escape room. Luckily, we made it out of prison! (With a few hints.) Then we headed back to the food court and had ridiculous milkshakes that contained about a pound of confections. It was a really fun day!!
  • Not much else to say about this week. I had to run 10 miles for my long run (for marathon training), which is less than last week, but it was hotter and way more humid, so it was a tough run. This weekend, I have to run 15 miles! Yikes!

What I Read This Week:

  • I read MacKenzie’s Run by Gayle Rosenberg, a book that depicts a family affected by a mass shooting. Then I read Bloody Fool for Love by William Ritter, a Buffy the Vampire Slayer sequel that features Spike!
  • I finished listening to Our Dark Duet by Victoria Schwab. I’m so glad I finally read the second book in this duology because I loved it just as much as the first!! Then I started listening to Alive by Scott Sigler. It’s a full-cast dramatized recording, so it’s a pretty entertaining way to spend a run.

What I Watched:

  • We tried out a couple more K-dramas this week, but we haven’t found one that we’re definitely continuing yet, and I can’t think of the name of the most promising one, so I’ll update on that later. I didn’t realize how many K-dramas Netflix has!
  • I finished watching Keep Breathing on Netflix. The last couple of episodes are very flashback heavy and they start to get a little trippy (because the MC is basically dreaming at that point). So I thought it started out more promising than it ended, but I still enjoyed it overall.
  • We finally jumped back into watching the final season of Angel. It’s actually my favorite season of the show, but we just don’t have as much motivation to watch it as we did when we were also watching Buffy along with it.

Here’s what you may have missed on the blog since my last Sunday Post:

  1. Ooh nice! Glad you all had fun in Chicago! The escape room sounds fun. I’ve never done one myself. I think I’d break under the pressure to be honest. Lol! Ohhh season 5 of Angel! That was a fun one! I didn’t watch it when it was on—I might have caught some of season 5 but not all—and that series finale is still one that gets at me! I was like what just happened?! Thanks Joss! >:(

Nice new reads too! Those are all new to me ones but I hope you enjoy them all!!

  2. Birthday wishes to the Mister. That’s my kind of celebration. I only did an escape room once (with my job – team building), but it was so much fun.
